Mom passed last wednesday 14/11

Since the starting of October has been a rough time for mom and family. Things started to go bad, initially the hospital admission for the ascitis and right pleural effusion, she was at hospital a week and during the next week she had to return to be drained three more times and then was sended to palliative care. A week later another hospital admission for respiratory problems due to the pleural effusion for what they gave her oxigen and controlled the pain with oral morphine but when she was at home two more days and then a big pain in the abdomen that was an abdominal obstruction and more pleural effusion at the left side.

Then she was admitted at palliative care and they controlled the pain with fentanil and every day she had more pain and more respiratory problems and they had to increase the quantity of the pump of fentanil, until wednesday when they said to us that had to sedate her for not having more pain. Doctors explained this to her and she only wanted not to be more in pain and we had the opportunity to say goodbye to her, we (my brother, my father and I) kissed her and say how we loved her.

Then she was sedated and we stay there holding her hand until the end that was ten hours later, at this moment all three were with her and we noted that thas was the final and she looked quiet and peaceful.

I want to say thanks to all of you that are here giving hope to people like me searching for answers and hope and I wish you all the best.

Hugs.
Celeste.
