I saw my oncologist today and both my labs and PET scan are clear! So NED is still my friend!!! I don't have to have any more scans - just labs in 6 months. I'm so thankful my insurance paid for the scans! Had 4 PET scans post treatment. I still have issues with bleeding due to radiation proctitis and he said that could go on for 2 years and it's common. He didn't think the cancer would return and I hope he's right! He's so easy to talk to. He spared me a rectal exam because I see the colorectal dr. Monday. So I guess having my "arnse" nearly burned off helped. What a journey this has been, but I know I still have more check ups to come...

That is great news! I wish they would give me scans but my doctors say they don't do post treatment scans anymore. I am really not comfortable with that. Seems some cancer centers still do.

Congratulations! So much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!

    Hi Law

I have been wondering how you are doing? Do you start treatment Monday? I hope you have all your questions answered and that you have a restful weekend.

    Thanks
Thanks to all for the good wishes! I hope colorectal dr. had good news, too - not looking forward to the exam...
For those of you in treatment or starting treatment, you'll find out that you're stronger than you think you are. There were many days I felt awful. I was really never in any pain, just felt crappy - excuse the expression, but that's how I felt.
Wishing everyone the blessings of Thanksgiving!!!

    I Know How You Feel
For the first 2 years all my doctors needed to do DREs. I am 3 years 10 months post treatment and on an annual checkup schedule with colorectal surgeon and chemo doctor. Congratulations on your good news. What a great gift for Thanksgiving.
