I have seen several posts on here about lymphedema and remembered that there was a site that many of us got free le bracelets. They were really bright pink, almost neon, for your wrist, but, you want it to get attention. They also have neon green for your ankle. I ordered one awhile back when I went in for some outpatient surgery, and, I just went to the site and ordered another pink one. They aren't fancy, but, if you're going in for surgery, it would at least alert the personnel to make sure that arm isn't used for blood draws, iv's, blood pressure readings etc.

The site is:

Lymphedema Alert Bracelet

Let me know if you get one.

    FREE!I
I don't have lymphedema, but, it would nice to have this incase I would need something to remind the nurses or doctors that they can't do anything with my arm, since I had nodes taken.

    Thanks!

    Also the G-sleeve
Here is a sleeve that doesn't provide compression but it does alert medical personnel to leave that arm alone.

You're welcome! The bracelet, from what I remember, is just plastic, not fancy or anything, but for free, I guess we can't expect gold, right? lol

I need to probably look into buying a medical alert bracelet and wearing it all of the time. Does anyone here wear one, a medical alert bracelet?

    Lympedema bracelet
Just got out of the hospital. I was very sick from food poisoning. Husband, myself and his son went to a well known restaurant, all 3 of us got sick. According to the restaurant, the reason must have been my stepson breathing on us in the car and transmitting a rota virus .- yeah right! I had collapsed in the hallway, husband called 911, a bunch of burly firemen picked me up under the armpits and dragged me down the hall, me moaning all the way, don't touch my left arm, oh please it hurts so from surgery! By the time I reached the stretcher I had passed out. I wear a steel lymphedema bracelet from the Lymphedema Network, still I had to remind everyone at the hospital over and over and over NOT TO TOUCH MY LEFT ARM. Fortunately I was consious by the time we reached the hospital Emergency. Nurses put a big sign over my bed "no needles, no B/P left arm", which most did not see! I need something neon pink and will order the free bracelet to wear alongside my pretty steel one which looks too much like jewelry.

PS - husband, step-son are doing better and I am on my way, too. I was told the reason I was the sickest of the bunch is because of my compromised immune system

Most emergency personnel are trained to actually look for a bracelet, usually a medic alert bracelet, as, something they do could kill the patient. And, I just hope that my hubby or someone is with me, should I need medical care.
