You won't hear nything on the news are newspapers.... no recognition for Lung Cancer, it's a shame but thats the truth.... I read that twice as many women die from lung cancer than from breast cancer but most the funding go's pink.... I will be wearing my pearl cancer pin. Stay well all.... Dan

We need to do a better job getting info out about activities
The Lung Cancer Alliance is partnering with groups around the US to sponsor Shine a Light on Lung Cancer. In Ann Arbor Michigan, my hospital St Joseph Mercy Health, there is a dinner with a candle light vigil. This is going on in many cities around the US. Some of the early in the month ones were cancelled because of Hurricane Sandy, but there are other events all over -visit the Lung Cancer Alliance website at http://www.lungcanceralliance.org/. The ACS Facebook page will feature stories of survivors and caretakers. They are particularly interested in stories by non and never smokers to help change the perception of LC from one where it is deserved to one of epic proportions no matter the cause. One enterprising young woman has succeeded in having the Niagara Falls Authority light up the Falls in all white for awareness.

Women should wear their pearls all month long and make sure they let people know why. If we stay on this and apply lessons from the ladies in pink as far as promoting awareness we can build serious momentum.
