So glad I found this site!

Hi everyone! I just found this site..so glad! I have been going thru hell. I'm into my third round of chemo and I am so sick! I'm so tired that I can hardly get out of bed. My bones ache, my fingers are numb. I have headaches all the time. Just venting! My poor husband usually has to hear all this, since I don't know too many people where I live. (Moved here about 6 months ago.) I love reading all your posts...makes me feel that I'm not alone in all this. Thanks for being here!!!!

    Thanks girls!!
Thanks for the warm welcome! How I wish this forum didn't have to exist...that cancer was a thing of the past...but it isn't...so I'm glad you are all here to help each other thru this difficult part of our lives. I do have a sister who lives 50 miles away and she visits now and then. I have a nice elderly neighbor who talks to me occasionally but that's about it. My husband has been wonderful! I'm so blessed to have him. I will tell you about my life and the kind of cancer I have another time as my hands are so numb right now I can hardly type. It's a beautiful day here in northern Michigan and my hubby wants to get me out in the sunshine for awhile. Take care ladies...talk later!!

    First, welcome to the
First, welcome to the message board noone wants to join. However, you will find lots of support and good advice here.

I am so, so sorry that you are having such a hard time with chemo. I had chemo 25 years ago (can you believe?) and it is sometimes hard to remember.

Sending big hugs and praying the achiness and numbness gets better soon!

I'm another newbie to this board
those I'm still going through the diagnostic processes. Breast cancer has not been confirmed, but I've reached surgical excisions with complications. The support hear has been fantastic.

I knew about this early on because I'm already an active member of other boards here, having survived (at least so far) Stage IV appendix cancer. I knew where to run as soon as my mammo showed problems.

I can't tell you how wonderful everyone has been; caring, supportive. This is a great place to vent, to feel (and yes, to give your husband a break from your angst.)

Welcome aboard from another newbie! (And thanks to all of you who came ahead of us, to help light our ways.)

    Welcome Gingergirl, like
Welcome Gingergirl, like others, I wish that none of us needed to be here...and yes this is a great place for friendship, support, and all the caring and love you can absorb.

I've got some practical advice about chemo that I hope will help...I did 6 rounds of TAC.

First, drink lots of water. You probably heard this from the nurses. I started hydrating two days before chemo and for 3 days after. I liked icy cold smart water because of the electrolytes, and vitamin water when I wanted flavor. And there's always the basic filtered water.

Are you getting Neulasta or Neupogin shots? Those can be causing the achy feeling in your bones. Claratin worked for me to get rid of that. (Not Claratin D) I started it the day before the shot and continued 3 days after the shots were done.

I'm afraid I don't have much advice about what sounds like neuropathy in your fingers.

Be sure your doc/advice nurse knows about all your SE's. Don't be shy about calling them, that's what you pay them for. There is often a way to help you get through them...and come here often. We almost always have someone here who has 'been there, done that' and can give you some good advice.

I hope some of this helps. Please come back and let us know how you're doing.

    Hugs,

    Linda

    Don't worry
Everything you are feeling is normal. Funny how as time goes by you forget symptoms. One day you will too. It will get better or more tolerable, hang on in there. Drink piles of water, keep hydrated and eat something that really appeals to you. Sleep as much as your body asks for, it is healing and coping with the chemo. When you are able and it won't be quite yet, start to exercise gently then increase as you can. Have friends and family help if needed don't be proud. I couldn't iron for a long time then every shirt I did iron felt like it nearly killed me. Dose, nap, read, lap top use etc just take it easy. Good luck.

Your excitement is infectious. You will be coddled here and given more advice than you can shake a stick at. But most of it the doctor doesn't have time to cover, so you will be so happy. I am sorry that you are going through that dreaded chemo. 3rd round done makes you a WARRIOR. Post often for advice, and post often for other newbies. You will get to know all of us real soon. We are like beloved characters in a book...virtual, but somehow more real than the other people we associate with.

I'm sorry we had to meet like this, but God put us together here to support each other so here we are feeling, and thinking everyday like grap but as long as we keep in contact we know we're still here, so keep your head up and thank God we're survivors, once you go threw all this and get your strength back your going to look back and say i made it and get your life back in order.
