Treatment Update

Well guys, 3 treatments down, 15 to go.

I was having problems stretching out my arm without a pulling pain going up my arm. I am happy to say, this pain is gone. The lump is still visible and feels like it's going down in size a little bit. It is still about the size of a large chocolate easter egg, but it's making progress.

So far I have felt some pain from the treatment. Kind of like needles in the armpit occasionally and sporatically. I've also had some headaches and these worry me. I was really hoping that I wouldn't have headaches with this. Oh well it is what it is. I will talk to my doctor about it Wed when it's doctor day. I just have to see him once a week.

What I found humorous was the nurse said to use Dove soap in the armpit, but I could use whatever other soap on the rest of my body...like I'd go to that trouble LOL. Also told me not to shave or I could use an electric shaver on my armpit. I don't own one and am really hoping the rads will take care of the hair issue.

The worst part is that I am starting work an hour later to be able to do it in the morning, but that extra hour in the evening is not my idea of fun. There is so much more traffic to deal with. So getting home at 6:15 makes it hard to eat dinner, clean up and play with the dogs before bed. Feels like my whole evening is shot. At least it's just for the month of October. I will be ready for this all to be over.

Take care everyone, I will try to update more often.

Beth

    Easter Eggs and Armpits ;)
    Hi Beth,

    You're upbeat and funny - that's a good thing :).
I wouldn't worry about the shaving either.
I hope the headaches and "needles" go away soon
and I just know that "Easter Egg" is melting in the mid-day sun.

I think I'm falling in love with Blue Heelers - been reading about them.
They are just so dang smart. Here I am thinking about dogs and
I discovered I have a flea problem in the house. I think it came
from a friend's dog who visited recently. I don't have any pets - well
until now (yuck). I bought some stuff at the vet's office today to treat
the carpets/floors but ran out of energy so plan is to attack tomorrow morning.

Thanks for the update and hope things continue to go well.

Hugs to you and the "babies",

    Jim

    Smart
Heelers are super, scary smart lol. I swear Sam knows exactly what I say lol
A friend from the dog park came and got all 3 dogs friday while I was at work to take them and wear em out for me so I could have a peaceful evening. She also brought some frozen marrow bones...they didn't come up for air for hours. Sam actually carried the bone with him to pee lol.

    I am doing pretty good.

If you want the best companion possible, get a heeler!

    Thanks, Beth :).

Yep, the bone story kinda reminds me of when I was younger and out
at the clubs. That beer went with me to the bathroom - LOL ;).

    Carry the Bone
Dogs know if they put the bone down another dog will snatch it up. I carry my steak with me to pee if we have a lot of people over. Nobody gonna snatch my steak. LOL John

    Fleas
    Jim,
We had sand fleas once a long time ago. Tried that bomb in a can. It killed the fleas, but not the eggs. It said it would, but thats a bunch of bullcrap. If you use it make sure you cover your plants. It will spot the heck out of them. Also be sure you cover any cooking utensils.John

    Headache

I take BC Powders for headache pain. It is mostly asprin (with a little caffine, to enlarge vessels slightly) and is powdered, quickly absorbed, and works better on a tension headach than anything I've ever used. Occasionally, an old remedy is still best.

    Positive thoughts
    Hi Beth

Your strength is amazing as you face each new challenge. Hang in there, October will be over before you know it.

As you become more tired with the rads, see if your friends can help out a bit more with the pups. You will need all the rest you can get. Working full time and getting rads and taking time for yourself and hubby and pups is alot! Rest Rest Rest.
Walking Lola has been one of my big challenges, so far hubby has been doing almost all the walking. I hope to be able to walk a little bit more as time goes on.

I have not been posting much, I'm still so fatigued and my brain feels like mush. But I am keeping you close in my heart and sending you all positive energy for a quick and easy time with the rads. They are going to work!

    Huge hugs to you
    Lisha
