Pain

Not sure if the HT treatments, or just a fluke , but my back is gone. All I did was turn, and it was gone. Tomorrow will be worse. Not sure if HT caused this but I really feel like it did. Percocet does not even touch this. Not sure what is causing this but the pain is insane. Had back surgery years ago, and been dealing with the pain since. Nothing like this. Can HT cause this? Could the discs have shattered? I know tomorrow morning is going to be really bad, but as bad as it is now, I really am dreading tomorrow.

I have been on HT treatments for a long time and it can cause Peripheral Neuropathy which is very painful. The regular pain medicine does nothing for it. You need to have a nerve pain killer or inhibitor. OR I don't know.

Good luck Mike, and God bless you. I'm having a hard time thinking these days :-(

    Memory
    Ralph,
I have been losing my memory for awhile. I think the medicine takes your memory. I do not think it is dementia. I think it is due to the drugs. Can not prove it. Short memory is shot. Good reason to get out of business. Been blowing service calls because I forget to read my notes. Fortunately mycustomers are ok. Have not told them about cancer. Fortunately my customers know me well enough to know I am honest. I am Fortunate to have been honest so customers know I am trying my best. I hope it is the drugs otherwise I am screwed. Two more days and I am out. Really looking forward to it.

Hope you are doing OK. Did you see my post about those researchers in CA starting human trials? You. Might want to try them. I shot them an email. No reply yet. Sounds like a great break through to me.

    Marijuana for pain
    Mike

I hope you manage to find a way to relieve the pain. I read in a previous post about the successful effect of marijuana in the control of pain. I do not know how it works or how it is administrated. In any case the pain could be due to deterioration of bone induced by HT drugs.

A DEXA scan (densitometry) can tell about any bone loss (osteoporosis). In such cases a bisphosphonate named Zometa is recommended to guys on HT. It helps in reducing pain and prevents bone loss.

    Best.

    Pain relief
Anti-depressent Nortriptyline does wonders for my back.
I used to be down for days. Now i can walk the same day and i feel like it is gone in a couple of days. Also have Peripheral Neuropathy in both legs and feet.
    Controls that pain also.

    Ncobjim,
Thank you. I will mention it to my Onc. He gave me Neurontin and it sucks. Once was enough. Gave me another one and I tried it, but made me sick. I will suggest this.

    Thank you,

    When and what
My wife asked me one time if I were scared and I told her yes and no - scared of dying but not scare of being dead. What scares me the most is being in pain. Any thoughts on when PC will become painful and what do they do for it. Have had Percocet for kidney stones and it is OK but if I take their recommended dose it makes me sick. So far I don't seem to have any symptoms other than going to the bathroom a lot.

    Thanks!!!

    Pain with PC
The surgey of PC cause very little pain for me and I had RP removal. Its once you start the different types of drug's to stop the monster or as normal people call it Prostate Cancer. Some medicine will inflame certain problems like diabetes II and which in turn inflame peripheral neuropathy problems in my case. Every thing has a cause and effects and some people here can not take lupron and I cannot take certain HT medicine, because of the effects.

What were your Gleason scores and psa level?

    Pain
No one can predict when the pain is coming. I was in alot of pain and was talking to a NP. I told her I was afraid of becoming addicted or when pain really starts I will have built up a tolerance for the drugs. She told me that they have alot of seugs to off set the pain. Am on percocet 7.5 mgs. They work now, but she assured me they had stronger drugs for later. I believe they have drugs to take us all the way to the grave. I hope so because I would really hate to have pain that drugs could not handle.
