Does anyone know how long UPSC takes to grow? I know the kind I have is very agressive, but looking back in my records, I had signs three years before diagnosis and when they found it, it was only a 1a. Could it really started that far back? Thanks, debrajo

I was diagnosed 1a in March
I was diagnosed 1a in March and my gyn/onc says it had been there 6 or 7 months. I initially had a thin, mostly clear, foul smelling discharge that started in Feb. it was enough to go through my clothing. I was a nurse for over 45 years and the odor took me back many years to a pt dying of uterine cancer. My gyn (who did not do a sniff test)diagnosed atrophic vaginitis. Lucky for me she did a pap smear and it picked up some abnormal cells. So, no one has confirmed my suspicions of my symptoms but I know what I believe. Don't take a chance, ladies. Trust your instincts. And if Medicare won't pay for a pap every year, pay for it yourself. Even though it is not considered diagnostic for what we have, it seems that is how it was discovered for more than a few posters on this site.

    Same here
I had spotting back in June 2008 up until my hysterectomy in March 2010. Had many tests done but no one ever mentioned a biopsy to me until January 2010. Just had ultra sounds and pap tests but nothing showed up in either test. I too am 1a with the cancer 25% through my uterine wall. No other involvement. Maybe by aggressive they mean if it returns it spreads rapidly.

Thanks all of you! I know
Thanks all of you! I know we had to evacuate from Hurricane Ike in Sept. of 2006. I had some thin pinkish discharge and thought about going to the dr. where we displaced to. It stopped, we went home to clean up the mess and I chalked it up to post-menopause break-through. Flash forward three years, regular pap check, then biopsy, then 1a,grade c UPSC. I felt bad, but still didn't know that along with UPSC, I had a near fatal birth defect in the aortic valve. Had to have that removed BEFORE they did the hysterectomy! So I was diagnosed July 26 2009 and didn't have the hysterectomy til Dec. 5, 2009. Wonder how fast it went in 4 1/2 months?! Best Debrajo

Connie, I did not read the title of your post. After reading your question I did a double take!! Then went back and realized you were referring to sleep. LOL

It's nice to have a lighter side.
