Blood panel and probably IV fluids again...grrrr !

Hey everyone,
Have been fighting with myself on this one for 6 wks. Since rads back in Feb., my body has gone in what I deemed cycles. Feel really wonderful for 3 days and down for 3. Was told to get use to the new me. Thought o.k. But now my internal self...the one we don't realize kicks our butts outta the clear blue has kicked in over/time ! I usually shoot from the hip, so here goes....anyone remember the old saying death before depends ? Well I do, and am not a happy camper ! Going in today finally after trying to battle with this issue with the diet for loose you know what's. I am so sick of being dehydrated, and then having to be poked....and the old grey mares veins don't cooperate as well as they use to. Well if this is the new me, I want the old one back ! O.K. I know small in comparission, but just plain tired of all the new crappy (in my case literally) things popping up in my world. Thanks for letting me vent, and like I said small beans in comparission. Katie

    Never Small Beans...
You have to take care of you before you can take care of others.....

You'll figure it out, what works best for you.

Hoping that comes sooner than later.

Never small beans, don't opt for Navy Beans, when you can have Butter Beans... :)

    Best,
    John

    Oh honey....vent away!!!
We all hit limits (new hurdles) in this journey....and just so you know, I was right where you are at all day Sunday....sick and tired of the whole thing....(I even cried when I was talking to my sister).

Just keep in mind, how you feel is temporary....both good and bad....this will pass, and our "old gray mare-ness" will be under wraps again :).

Sending big hugs to you to boost you over this hurdle.

    Thanks !
    Phrannie and John,
You guys have a way with words....I am on a different journey than most of you...and yet the same. Knowing you understand some of the hurdles are the same, reaffirms my feelings. Thank you ! Katie

    Dear Katie...
The sun always shines after the rain!! Always! And so it will in your life! You're a great fighter and everyone who fights strong, becomes a winner in the end!

We all must stick together in all of this, because (this is a good one :-)):
When "I" is replaced with "we" even "illness" becomes "wellness" :)))))

Take care! I'm thinking of you!!!!

    feel better Katie
    Hi Katie,

I am sorry for your discomfort, to say the least. Life is hard enough without the “side effects” and “new normal” and a few unexpected zingers thrown in to an already complicated recovery. You mentioned good days and bad days and your faith is always unwavering toward recovery and happiness. I truly hope and pray these hurdles will be few and easy for you to get over. After all, you keep me in line (so to speak).

    Best,

    Matt

    Side effect
Vanessa, I love that saying illness/wellness. First time I've ever heard it. And, Katie, I'm hoping this newest side effect is short lived. I experienced the same on & off just a few weeks ago. At first I thought it might be the Ensure but before I had time to switch to Boost, it passed. I considered diet but could not relate anything specific. I would have difficulty a day or two then ok a couple of days and then another episode. Went on for just a couple of weeks then disappeared. Hope the same for you!

    Thanks everyone !
Just got back from my primary. Issues related to antibiotics (long term use) and prednisone for lungs. Still have to give samples due to lenghth of time having this stuff....but also given med to stop it. It'll be so nice to not worry on silly issues for awhile ! Meds can do a real number on us. Again, thank you for the support ...you're all ACES in my mind ! Katie

    Hi Katie...
I think I undrtand ..and quite frankly I'm glad you said something..now I don't feel so bad about my thoughts the other day....

..the other day I (almost in a quilty whispering tone) said to my wife "I feel quilty saying this honey, but I'm tired and irritated at XYZ" ..The XYZ I am referring to is still having a bit of pain, on a scale of 3-4 in the back of my tongue, not being able to swallow big bites of food like I used to and a couple of other things.

I felt quilty because I have soooo much positive to look at after what I have been through...so I think I can relate to what you mean when you "fuss" (that's my word not yours I know) about wanting the old you.

So thanks for that vent...it tells me I am normal to sometimes get impatient with the side affects...but also am normal when I feel guilty about fussing (fussing is a southern term) .. :)

Still have you on the prayer list Katie!
