Bad luck

I just had a double masectomy last Thursday and seemed to be recovering nicely. I went in yesterday for my pathology report and of course didn't get the news I'd hoped for. I will have to undergo another surgery on one of my breast next week to take additional skin off due to the cancer spreading along the skin tissue. This wasn't found until after the inital surgery. They also found the cancer in my lymph nodes only one out of five but now the doc states chemo will be desired. They will be taking the muscle and skin from my back to fill in the breast. It seems like every time I take one step forward for recovery I get hit with bad news about the cancer and seems to go back. The first surgery was hard enough, I just started showering and getting dressed by myself. Sorry ladies just having a pity party!!! I know I need to go and get it out of me and continue on with treatment...just having one of those days!

Love you all!!!

    Believe me,
pity parties are part of the package. Good thing is they usually don't last forever! I am glad that they are doing it right away, and even happier that they found it now, rather than down the road after it had spread.

I am so sorry that it means chemo. No way around it, chemo sucks but it is still the best option that we have, and before you know it, this will all be behind you. Keep posting we really do care and understand when you don't get the news you are hoping for.

    Prayers for a speedy recovery,
    Carol

I am so sorry to hear of the bad news. I can sense the disappointment. I totally understand about having a rough recovery from a bmx. It just sucks. I wish you had better news, but hopefully the cancer hasn't spread much more than that. I am wishing you the best.

Oh, honey, so sorry for this new development
I had a left-sided mastectomy 3 weeks ago and the last thing I'd want right now is more surgery there. You have every right to be feeling the way you do--anyone would. I hope your surgery goes well and you can start the recovery process again soon.

Hang in there--you can do this and we'll all be here cheering you on. I'm sorry that you're having to do chemo as well. Let me tell you though--for me, it was not nearly as bad as I had imagined. I tried to think very positively about it and envisioned it killing all those stray cells that thought they had a chance to beat me. I put on those boxing gloves (literally) and fought my darnedest. You can do it. I'll be rooting for you.

Take care and keep us posted with your progress. We care.

    Hugs, Renee

It is never easy .... our journeys
have many stones that we stumble on -- twists and turns that we take, and
    unforeseen cliff's.

Please know that you are in great company, and we share in your pain as well as
cheer for any, and all accomplishments!

May your 2nd surgery go smoothly, and your healing be quick. More importantly,
may your surgeon be successful in getting all of the beast out of your body.

Strength, Courage and HOPE for a Cure.

    What day is your surgery?
We want to hold you up as you go. I can't imagine how difficult it must be after you had thought it was completed. I pray that this surgery will go smoothly.

Sending prayers for peace as you move forward,
