    Sorry Ditto...
Still don't know how I keep missing some posts ..did not see yours till today ...sorry I did not respond sooner.

Looks like you got it under control....I too used that Silvadene stuff (sp) ...but I also used a "mesh like" bandage (for lack of a better word)..I'm at work but I have a box still at home...it looked like "skin" ..I would put the Silvadene on and then layer on those skin looking bandages then wrap my whole neck...there's a picture of my neck in my expressions...

I might can find and post a picture of it bandaged up too....

Praying the pain subsides quickly....my neck was one of the worst pains I suffered as well...

    Best,

    Tim

I know your a busy man
but so glad to hear from you. The others have given me good advice. Tim this is one messy time of this healing process. I have been on the Silver for about a week now such a mess, able to mix it with something not sure its like oragel for the neck?? Diane is now billing me for laundry service, its amazing how many towels and rags I go thru. (LOL just kiddiing dear) Seems most say maybe 2 weeks to come out the tunnel. I know yours was severe but when did you see the light? Seems Im taking more pain meds than at any other time, neck is red from just below my chin bone to about 3 inches out on my neck, shoulders and front of neck. I realize time is our best healer, and time is so slow, and then boom so fast. Either way Tim again thank you for responding. I feel blessed to have met you even under these crazy circumstances and you are special. Thanks

    Hi Ditto...
I wish the pain would end asap for you....hard to say. I believe (my opinion) from all I read from most I was a bit behind the class on the pain bus...so don't take what I share to the bank...it did take me about 4 weeks for the pain to ease up..I got behind the pain instead of staying ahead of the pain which they tell you not to do.

Being a big guy (well, at least I was big) I thought I was taking enough pain meds...but ended up wearing two fentynal patches and taking 6-7 narco a day along with advil ...so I too A LOT pain meds...the onco told me my burns and reaction to Erbitux were some of the worst he had seen (a good sign he said bc that means the tx are doing what they need to do)...

The good news Doug is it WILL END ...stay ahead of that pain...wear that silvadene all you need to. I posted a pic of me in my RV at the tx facility as my profile pics just for you to see my neck all bandaged up :)

So my light was 4 weeks ...but I bet yours will be soon ...

    Prayer for you Doug ...

    Best,

    Tim

PS I remember every time we went to change the badages I would jus think I was going to die from the pain ...hated air to hit it ..really felt it was on fire..would shake so bad from the pain....(I share just so you will know I understand)

Also..on the amouunt of pain meds...just be careful you take as prescribed ...I got to thinking about how I said I took so many ....but I was a 320 pound guy....HUGE ...now of course I am 85lbs less and still shrinking :)

yes I went thru the Im on FIRE sensations last week, complete with the shaking and moaning like a wounded animal. This week and the weekend better, last week unable to take warm bath by Wed, flame thower same day, took the Silver with ladacain mixed in per DR tx and Walgreen. Actually with the ladacain mixed in it goes on smoother, does not create such a cottage cheese effect but still in recovery as this morning. Good news some things that taste like what there are supposed to, not alot but Ice Cream Bomb Pop like things we had for me and my granddaughter. Yogurt taste like it is supposed to, Equate usually 2 to 3 bottles a day, yesterday 4, but that was in hopes to make up for very little calorie intake of the weekend. Keeping up with fluids water, etc. Always lean to caution on Meds, but seems to help now. Hope by the end of this week will no longer have the neck as my main issue. My thoart is not bad but my Voice is a struggle, thanks to all the kids who taught me how to text. Im going to shoot out a new post for Voice since this post will likely not draw many more responses. Again thanks Tim, I got your email from an old post so if its ok with you Im not much of a Facebook guy but maybe an email. Let me know if that offer is still open. God Bless you and your beautiful family

    Fire is out
thanks everyone for your replies. Using Aquaphor last few days since putting the silverdine away, actually found Aquaphor on older blogs being talked about, still greasy but not has bad as the mess from Silverdine, but Im sure it took the Silverdine to get me to the Aquaphor. So again thanks for your responses.

    Ah finally
That's awesome that this part is now behind you. Now you can sleep at night and turn your neck without so much pain and the time is just around the corner when you won't have any goop on your neck at all.
Now you'll be able to focus on healing all the other parts. Keep us posted on how you're doing.
