A "sucks" to be here welcome to all the new people. We are not here for the greatest reason but this is an awesome group. I am saddened by the loses we have had this past few months.

I hope all had a great summer. I am back in Denmark. I went back to the US for medical care. I was there pretty much all summer. I also went to see if my sister had cancer. Thankfully she does not seem to have cancer. They did find a lump in her breast that they are watching. I would personally push for a biopsy but I have pushed her all summer. My sis needs to pick it up and run with it. It is causing conflict between us.

I was checked over for a possible reoccurence. Thankfully, I had none. Though last years surgery and chemo just shot my digestive system. I have intestinal atrophy so if I do not laxative enough, I look like I am 9 months pregnant. I am on a cocktail of 3 different daily laxatives. The gastro wants me to eat more fiber, but it impacts the hell out of me. I can't process it like I used to. Now that I am back, I should be getting more exercise.

I find waiting for reoccurences is the crappiest thing. I try to live day to day. I try to plan for the future but that particular beast haunts me. I think it haunts a lot of us.

Regardless I will try to live with a plan for a future. :) Hugs to all and prayers of best health.

So nice to hear from you
and yeah, no recurrence. I'm very interested about coctail of laxatives. I've been on chemo for so long that it feels like I'm never without constipation.

The beast haunts alot of us. It is not an easy thing to push aside those fears and live day to day, but it's so worth the fight when you get out there and enjoy.

    Hi Radioactive
It's great to hear from you. And while constipation and your digestive issues are a huge deal, I'm happy that you've had no reoccurence. Definitely plan for the future. I'm currently NED too and, while I too have thought about the possibility of cancer coming back, I still assume I will be here for a long time!

Sending you and your sister lots of good wishes.

I gotta say this whole NED
I gotta say this whole NED thing is nerve wracking. Every little ache I get I think "Oh god is the beast back". I don't take into consideration what I went through and I pick up right where I left off prior to diagnosis. Moving furniture the other day just made my arms and legs sore. lol. I guess I am out uof shape. Now that school is starting soon and we will be camping less I am going to join the livestrong program at the Y and get my full energy (that I thought I had) and strength back...

I hope anybody NED stays there and the ones working towards it get there.

Nice to hear from you. I think we all are ready for summer to end. Personally, I want it to get cooler so my hot flashes don't make me feel like I am about to explode and living in Florida it does feel that way. I know what you mean about recurrence fear and moving on. I just booked a trip to Jamaica I said F@@k it and just bought the insurance for an extra $16. It gives me something fun to look forward to at least. All the best to u

    Laxatives
Hi Maria, I am taking Miralax up to 2x daily. I have OTC stool ofteners that I add on to the evening med routine, and I have straight out laxatives like milk of magnesia. I find I have to constantly stay on top of these. If I get sidetracked or think...nah I do not need it today, I back up like a sink. I end up looking like I am pregnant almost overnight.

I also have the colonoscopy prep laxative on refill at the pharmacy. I dislike the taste but was totally amazed at how much better I felt after the flushing of the system. It is either constipation or diarhea for me. I prefer the latter. :/

Gatorade or like products have become my friend. I eat less because I just can't process it. Which is ok, I need to loose weight. As long as I do not become anemic I am ok. Though my closet really does have clothes that range from normal looking days to ready to give birth. My stretch marks are so not pretty. All in all though...better than having surgery which is the last resort for the doctor.

    I had forgotten about the
I had forgotten about the hot flashes. I was in Texas just sweating away and feeling highly feverish. I honestly thought I had a fever. I monitored my temperature all the time until I finally figured out it was the hot flashes. Then I just slept with cool packs around me. LOL, at least until I started feeling like I was freezing.

NED is scary. During treatment you knew what was going on. You knew what your role was and what was coming. Now you live a healthier lifestyle. You begin thinking maybe I can plan for a longer life. These thoughts begin gathering steam.....

Then you FART and it hurts like hell....AND you think **** I am dying again..no wait those are just complications...still scares me awfully...now if only it scared the **** out of me..that would be great...saves me a laxative

I am back in Denmark and scared but, I am planning for the future. I am back to trying to live healthy. I love that they incorporate a healthy lifestyle into everything here. I am hoping to find a job. Like you'll I am saying **** it...I am just going to live the best and happiest I can....

    What about enemas?
I hate taking laxatives! I've been using enemas when needed... Very gentle, painless, no gas etc.. Is there anything I should know about it being harmful? It seems more natural to me than taking another drug or pill.
