My doc has prescribed evoxac for dry mouth but i am hesitant to take it becuase of potential dry mouth. I read some old threads here and some folks had good results and some did not.

Any opinion on this?

Thanks,
Sam

    Evoxac
I have been using Evoxac for seven years. It does help generate saliva for me. As you will see on this site everybody is different and have had different results with medications to help with saliva. It is worth giving it a try to see if it helps.

    Hi ljoy,
    Did you face any

    Hi ljoy,

Did you face any of the side affects? Sweating etc.? 7 years seems a long time. I thought after some salivary glands do start working some of on their own.

    Thanks,
    Sam

Keep in mind, everybody is different
I tried Evoxac and had to stop due to side effects. It played havoc with my peripheral vision. I was seeing ghostly forms that weren't there. If I remember correctly, it also caused a little tunnel vision when I first woke up. Thankfully, it didn't stimulate my saliva so it was a no brainer to give up taking it.

    Side Effects
I had the maximum radiation dose for tonsil cancer. My saliva came back some but is probably 50-60%. I can tell my mouth is dryer without the Evoxac. I do have sweats during the night. No other side effects.
