It's been a long hard week but surgery was successful, lymph nodes are out (andclean!), and the temporary iliostomy appears to be working. I'll catch up on others' posts as soon as i am able, but in the meantime, i hope you all are well.

Best,

Robin

    Congrats
That is the best news you could get at this stage- it bodes well for a good long term outcome.

Congrats and wishing you a speedy recovery (though be patient as it takes some time for everything to settle down post op)

    Hi
Maybe this is hard to believe, but at some point, you won't even THINK about the ilestomy...it'll become just another routine.
I cried when I first got mine and would take forever in the bathroom getting everything arranged, but after a couple of months, it became very easy.
    Congratulations on a successful surgery~

    Iliostomy
Glad your surgery was so successful! Nice clean lymph nodes! Can't ask for anything better!

I agree with Tommycat. After you change the bag by your self you will realize how easy it is to maintain! I was a little scared of it at first because the first time the nurse in the hospital changed it I had just got done eating. Bad mistake! It kept flowing and she had difficulty getting a new bag on! But the second time she had me change it with her there and we did it first thing in the morning with no problems at all. I am honestly glad the first one went so bad because after that I knew I could handle anything!
