Hi All, I haven't posted in a while, but wanted to let you all know, I had my exam under anesthesia on Aug 3rd and he took a couple biopsies. The doctor called me last Tuesday morning and said the biopsies he took on Aug 3rd showed no evidence of disease (NED)... So I am CANCER FREE!!!!!! Yippee.... hard to imagine with a tumor as big as my fist that it is all gone now.... I am sooooooooo relived.
Still trying to find my new normal as there are a couple of foods I have found that I can not eat without causing cramping and diarrhea and he did tell me my hair (that I lost 'down there' with the radiation) may never grow back. Also still trying to regain some of my upper leg muscles. But all in all I think I am doing well. I did loose 30 lbs through the process and have not put any of it back on (would not advice this way to loose weight, but I did need to loose some and need to loose a few more lbs., but will work on that slowly). Will see the Dr again in 3 mths, but won't have another thorough exam for 6 months.
And YES!!!!! I do like chocolate again, after not liking it at going through the chemo and having it wreck havoc with my taste buds.
Hugs to you all.

Great news!. I know that it took a good year before my legs regained their strength. One day at a time it gets better. My hair down there grew back, although I wish it wouldn't have. I didn't like any sweets while on chemo, just made me sick. I lost about 20 lbs but have since gained it all back plus some. Thank you for sharing your great news! It gives everyone hope. Lori

    What wonderful news! Only
What wonderful news! Only part of my hair grew back, which is OK. I lost weight too which I needed to somewhat. It took a couple of months before my appetite came back. I am so happy for you. It took over three months before my hemoglobin came back up and my energy really started coming back.
    Congratulations!

    Yay Pattie!
This is wonderful news and I am so happy for you! I'm glad your recovery is going well. Don't give up on the foods you can not yet eat, as things are still healing. If you can, begin a walking program to strengthen your legs, along with some good stretching to keep your hips as mobile as possible. I hope you like dark chocolate--it has many health benefits, so enjoy! Take care.
