Waited too long

I had my surgery in early feb and I am supposed to start chemo on monday, but now I am having those dreaded abdominal pains again. It usually takes about 6 months for my tumors to grow back so I am already scheduled for a catscan on monday. Ugh if I had started chemo 4 months ago I would be almost done by now instead of having stomach pains already. So ill find out for sure on monday if they are back but Im pretty sure I already know.

Felicia I hope that is not
Felicia I hope that is not the case. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. I too am having a catscan on monday at 9:30. I finished my treatment June 25th. I had surgery in January and started chemo the end of February.

Why the wait between surgery and chemo for you? I am new here so I am not sure if you have posted why before.

I will keep you in my thoughts.

    Hi Eileen Congrats on being
Hi Eileen Congrats on being done with your chemo :)

The reason I haven't started chemo yet is because I had my 4th reccurence in february and usually I start chemo a month after the surgery but this time I wanted to explore other options. The last chemo I did(BEP Protocol) was brutal and I was constantly being hopitalized. Its just not worth it when the cancer keeps coming back in 6 months. Unfortunately though I have a very rare type of cancer that nobody really knows how to treat and my doctors feel like chemo is the way to go. So finally I agreed and after about a month they decided on high dose chemo (TIP Protocol) with avastin and stem cell recovery.

    Dear Felicia
I'm so sorry that you're having abdominal pains again. Could they possibly be from surgery adhesions (scarring) or is your instinct telling you otherwise? Sending you good thoughts and prayers as you wait your CT scan on Monday and praying that, when you do start chemo again, it does its job!

    Thankyou everyone for the
Thankyou everyone for the kind words. I just came back from the Dr and they did find another mass. Its pretty small so they don't know yet if they are going to take it out and then start my chemo or leave it and use it to see if the chemo affects it.
