When does the hair start coming back????

Hi everyone. Im new here. I just finishe up chemo June 25th. Yay.... My scan is Monday and I won't get the results for 2 weeks because my doctor is on vacation next week and then my appt. is the following friday.

She keeps telling me not to worry about it and that she is not concerned. She is no anticipating finding anything. She said my CA level says it all. My level was in the high 200s prior to surgery. On my first day of chemo it was 19 and dropped during treatments and is now at 10. I feel great and have alot of my energy back. It feels good to feel good again.

Anyways.... I keep watching my head for hair growth. My husband said he thinks it is starting because my head looks a litle darker. What about eyelashes and eyebrows. How long do they take to come back?

Thanks in advance fo any info...

    Congrats on finishing chemo!
Congrats on finishing chemo! I finished chemo march 21 and it was a good 4 weeks before I started seeing hair. It has to grow so much under the skin first. The first thing I noticed was a 5 o'clock shadow over my head after about 2 and a half weeks. My eyebrows are back to normal now. I even had to have them threaded this weekend. It did seem like a long time on the eyelashes. They are fairly normal now but it seemed they took longer than my hair and eyebrows.

Thank you both for your replies. Just wondering what to expect. I am looking more forward to eyelashes and brows than my hair. Tired of drawing my brows on (but getting darn good at it) lol.

How are you guys feeling now? I assume you have both had scans? How did they come out? I just joined last night. I'm glad I did.

    CONGRATULATIONS!
It's so wonderful to hear you are done with treatments. If this is your first time going through chemo, I think it will come back quickly. Mine did, and my eyelashes came back sooooooooo long!

    My hair began growing back
My hair began growing back before I even completed my treatments. I took my last treatment in late October '11. By mid January I was no longer wearing a hat. I just looked as though I had a very short haircut. Unfortunately, facial and leg hair grew back even faster.... Congrats on completing!!

My ct scan was clean. I had cisplatin (IP) and taxol(IP and IV). Did you have an IP port also?

My energy level is stArting to come back. I developed neuropathy in feet and hands toward the last chemo round. My dr said we wouldn't know if it would be permanent until 6to 12 months from now. I think my energy would be much better if I didn't have hot flashes waking me up at nt. Do you deal with that? But overall I feel good and am grateful! The good Lord has been with me .

It is such a good feeling to have treatments over
And to return to a little bit of normal. Happy for you to be done!

As you can see I wear my hair short
and did before as well. I had my last chemo on 9/16/2010 and in February of 2011 I got my first haircut (mostly to shape it up) but after the haircut it looked pretty much back to normal.

    I had two rounds of
I had two rounds of carboplatin and taxol then switched to carboplatin and taxotere because of neuropathy. I hear you about the eyelashes and eyebrows. I felt that missing those really identified me as a sick person. But they are pretty normal now. My eyelashes aren't quite as thick as they used to be but they are really long. I've got about an inch of hair on my head. I'm almost 16 weeks out from my last treatment and I am feeling pretty good. I still get fatigued now and then. I have days where I could just sleep all day. I try to listen to my body and rest when I need to.

I had a scan after my last treatment and it looked good. I also had to have a hernia repaired so my gyn oncologist was able to do another look inside. Blood work is all good and I am looking forward to living again. We are going on a disney cruise in a couple of weeks and I think I am more excited than my son, lol.

Hang in there. Things are only going to get better. You are on the upswing.

    Mine started growing back
Mine started growing back about a month after chemo ended. I have always had very straight hair, fine and thick....well, my hair has grown back thick and curly! It's a hoot! Every time I look in the mirror I have to laugh, because I have never had curl in my hair! But it is easy to take care of...I just wash it, put some mouse in it and let it air dry. I get compliments on it all the time! So enjoy the process of seeing it come back and I hope you have fun with it also! By the way, my eyebrows and eyelashes came in first...then my hair.
