I am meeting with the doc tomorrow and I am hoping to findout what my treatment plan is going to be and when I will be starting it. I had my surgery in feb so I feel like I should've started treatment a while ago. Im really nervous, all I know so far is that they are planning to give me high dose chemo with stem cell recovery but idk what kind yet. The idea of high dose chemo really scares me they said its inpatient and that I will be in the hospital for 2-3 weeks at a time.

Has anyone had high dose chemo or know someone who has?

Felicia, I am going out on a
Felicia, I am going out on a limb here, but you sound so fearful! We have two (guy) friends, one with IV lung cancer and one with IV colon cancer. They both had high dose chemo. They said it was just like any other chemo, they just drip it slower, watch for reactions, and go for a longer time. Both tollerated it very well, while being men they got bored in hospital! One(the colon) is doing very well, back at work, feels great, and is all clear. He had the usual joint pain, fatigue, ect, but was gone in days. We lost our other friend(the lung) because the tumor(rather three) had invaded the back side of his heart more than they thought, but he also did quite well and was getting fat again! So try not to look at the big picture, take baby-steps. Best, debrajo

    Thanks Everyone!
Thankyou guys for being so supportive! That is a huge relief to know that it won't be worse than regular chemo. I am going to be on the TIP protocal. Taxol ifosfomide and cisplatin plus avastin and stemcell recovery. I am starting on July 23.

    Thankyou :) I am considering
Thankyou :) I am considering going to get another opinion since this is my 4th recurrence. Its not worth it to be on chemo for 6 months when it keeps recurring within 6 months. They told me my type of tumor tends to be chemo resistant so I feel like they are giving me chemo because they don't know what else to do. One of my doctors keeps saying that nobody in the world knows how to cure my type of tumor which is very discouraging. I am wondering about Cancer treatment Centers of America, I have known a couple people that went there that said their experience was wonderful.
