Hi Tina,
How are you doing? Mum is probably in or about the same phase as you and I am thinking of you as my mums treatment goes along. If you have time, please send a note.

    Hello Sophie
I had my second Carboplatin last Thursday. It is quite easy, it only takes half an hour and the side effects are minimal. I get slight nausea, I go off my food a bit as it tastes strange. I am tired but still managing to go to work 3 days a week.

Not sure if you remember that I had about 2 - 3 months of problems with constipation and digestive problems back in February and March. Well since starting Carboplatin, they have all resolved themselves and I am so much better.

I went to see my Oncologist and she examined me. She was very pleased to see how well I was looking and how nice and soft my tummy was. I was expecting my numbers to have gone down as they were 1,600 when I was in hospital, but unfortunately they had gone up tp 2,000. She was puzzled and seems to think the next dose will have a better result.

Thank you for asking about me. How is your mum doing?

    So good to hear
    Hi Tina
I too have been thinking of you and hoping you are responding well to new treatment. So glad to hear you are feeling better on the Carboplatin - and even at work 3 days a week! Good news about the lack of constipation too! Keep your spirits up - you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I have now completed 7th and final round of carbo/taxol and hopefully hair, lashes and brows will start growing over the next two weeks! I returned to gym and feeling really good for that. I think getting back into some sort of normalcy with life again does wonders, which you must feel being at work. Will have bloods done late this month and eagerly await CA125 result.

    Stay strong and keep smiling.

    Hi Tina
Thank you for posting and I am very happy for you that you are feeling better! Good carbo does make a change and hope it will continue! Mum is doing slightly better off after our vacation in Malta last weekend. She is stronger and her measurements are better with bloodcount and so on. She is actually scheduled for surgery today and they will try to "clean up" her tummy from what is causing the constipation problems and hopefully the passage will be better allowing her to eat more and have less pain. We keep our fingers crossed. Her CA125 also went down during the vacation despite no chemo so our goal will be to keep travelling! Otherwise she lies still in bed and everything will be vorse off.. Good to be able to go to work! That must be a treat. Keep on the track!

    HI TINA!
I am so relieved that you finally seem to be making progress. Sometimes the numbers are not as accurate. You should judge it by how well u feel. Great news!
