fever

I am due to begin treatment tomorrow and eager to get started. Every evening this past week, I have had a low-grade fever (99.5). This probably started a month or two ago but I never bothered to check my temp. Now, I'm afraid to mention it for fear my treatment will be postponed. Did anyone else have a pre-treatment fever?

I did not experience this. However, you MUST mention this to your doctor before beginning chemo. They will most likely take your vitals before beginning chemo, but you may not be running a fever at that time. Fevers often come on late in the day. You really need to let your doc know. But hopefully it will not send up a red flag and delay your start of treatment.

    might not be high enough
if i remember correctly, as long as not 100 all was ok to keep going. but let your doc know so he can decide. better to delay than to have to quit and go to hospital. sephie

I told the nurse and she
I told the nurse and she said not to worry unless it went to 100.4 so the chemo was started.

I'm glad the fever was not a concern and that you began your chemo today. I hope you are feeling well this evening.

    Temp
Good. I did have a low grade temp for awhile before treatment as well. And it peaked to about 100.2 during treatment so watch it closely.
    Many blessings ~

    Thanks for the kind wishes.
Thanks for the kind wishes. So far, I've been feeling great---but it's only been two days. I'm just waiting for the ax to fall.

    don't wait
    MissGrace,

Don't wait for the ax to fall. Get on with things and take care of your health, keep up with your fluids and nutrition. Keep the attitude that you are gonna be the exception and the ax isn't gonna fall. If it does you won't regret that you sat around waiting. Keep us posted, even if all is still going well.
