It's been a couple of years since I finished my treatment, radiation and chemo,Cisplatin and F5U...Just got another clean Pet/Ct scan,NED since treatment ended..I was staged 2-b and turned down the surgery, didn't want a big life style change...So far so good,my Dr. thinks I may be one of the few who beat it but I think it's to early to tell..She wants to have my port removed in a few months, but I plan on keeping it till the end of the year...Just an update for those who may remember me..

Hi, So glad you are still NED after two years. You need to keep us updated for the newbies.
Sometimes we do have one that doesn't want surgery and it's good to hear the pros and cons.

    Thank you for you update
Thank you for you update Johnny. Bill is a stage 3 but can not have surgery due to other health problems. He just had his first clean PET and CT scans after 6 months of treatment (carbo/taxol/48 hour 5FU, followed by carbo/taxol/5 day 5FU/radiation. We know we have a long way to go, but reading your post is very encouraging. Hope we will be able to report back like you.
    Hugs

    Hi there!
    Hi Johnny,
I hope you see this post. If I recall you're one rare one on here that was working with dr. Kelley, right? My mom was treated by her for awhile before moving to CIty of Hope. Congrats on the latest scan. I am so happy for you!

    That is me...Dr.Kelley has
That is me...Dr.Kelley has been my oncologist for over 2 years and is pretty amazed that my scans are still showing NED..I saw her 4 weeks ago for my latest PET/CT results..She still would like me to do the surgery but I have decided that I don't want to go through that. I just don't want to live that way, this cancer can come back for sure and we will cross that bridge when and if it happens..

    Hi there!
Wow, glad we finally connected. I had mentioned I saw your posts on here to Dr. Kelley while we were doing some research regarding UCSF. Happy to hear things are NED!

Looking back, my mom would have foregone the surgery as well. I think it's a personal choice and if you're doing good, then keep up what you're doing.

Tell Dr. Kelley you came across Christine (Hsiu Yang's daughter) on this board. Wishing you the best!
