I have been a little MIA on the site lately sorry about that. There are so many new "faces". Sorry we all had to meet this way. But I wanted to let you know that I finally got my teal ribbon tattoo! It is on the back of my neck where people can see it. The end is shaped like a feather. I will have to post a pic. My cousin went with me and she got a tattoo also on her arm that says hero (she says inam her hero) and its spelled with all teal ribbons. Its really cool. Way to represent cuz.
I also have been talking with a local women I met thru a support group here in town. We bonded because we have a lot of similarities granted I am 32 and she is 62. I am in remission, however, she is still battling. But we both where stage 3c and we have the exact same hematologist and the same gyn/oncologist we both agree that we don't really like the hematologist too. Anyways we stopped going to the support group because it was making me sad but I kept in touch with this women. I spoke to her today on the phone and her cancer has spread to her bones. I am worried for her, heck I am worried for myself. Please keep her in your prayers.

    I want one
First what a sweat heart you are, I can feel your connection to this woman by the way you talk about her and I will put her on my pray list as well as you. I have been telling my mom I want a tattoo. Here I am 46 and still fighting with my mother about getting a tattoo, My mom and I are christians and there is this verse in the bible that basically say you can't have a tatoo. I feel God would understand this one it has to do with my battle I want a butterfly that the body is a teal ribbon. Out of respect for my mom I just can't go out and get one but some how I am going to convence her and I will get one done. I have always said I was going to get a tattoo when she passed but now that has changed. Please put up a picture I would love to see it and maybe I could use that to convence her it's not going to send me to hell having a tattoo like that lol.

Do you or your mother have
Do you or your mother have pierced ears? If so, it also say in that same verse, "you shall not have any cuttings, markings, or piercings" and it is in the old testament. We must adhear to ALL Bible teachings, old and new, but it also says "all things are made new and the old sweept away through Christ Jesus" Just a thought, I feel the same way as your mother because, to say the least, we were taught only"sorry" people have tats and they were just "tacky". I didn't react well when one of my boys got his first tat. but after his fifth,my daughter got one for her 30th birthday! Each to his own...God will understand and love you any way you are. After all, HE made us! Best Debrajo

I love the idea of a tattoo.
I love the idea of a tattoo. I lost my mom 8 months ago to cancer and I am in the process of having a rather large tattoo finished. It started with a teal ribbon, it has since blossomed to a number of tropical flowers with a sunset behind it all. Across the top it simply says "Beloved Mother". My mom was this larger than life charatcer, she was my rock, the only parent I ever had, this tattoo is just my way of saying thank you. It gives me a sense of peace.

Its my body, my temple and I will decorate it as I see fit. Im sure God won't mind ;D

    Tattoos
My neice and nephew who were incredibly close to my mom both got tattoos shortly after she got sick. My nephew got a teal ribbon which goes around his bicep and it says "nothing is permanent not even our troubles," with Grandma on the inside of the ribbon. My neice got a teal ribbon and bird to signify freedom and it also says grandma.

My seventeen year old granddaughter got one in my honor ,I would have talked her out of it if I had known beforehand . It is a bird that is not finished and she is going to color in with teal. I talked her out of putting the word grandma on it because I know it was done for me and when she is thirty or frothy it would not be sexy to see grandma on her back, lol. I would like to have a zipper put on my surgery scar just to make my Drs. Laugh but I am too chicken.
