    Oh, what wonderful news! Terrific.

And I could hear your story over and over! You bring such hope to many here.

    Love,
    Tara

    update after ultra sound
had complete abdominal ultra sound yesterday and my doc just called to say it all looked normal. so that is since my last liver resection in 08 and then xeloda and oxy all through the spring of 09. I seem to be okay since then.

re the ultra sound versus the cat scan.....wow I found the ultra sound really hurt especially when she was digging with the wand up under the ribs....still sore today but if it is not cancer and just sore dats okay with me. It may emit less radiation but a cat scan seems easier.

don't believe what they tell you
I got the same dire prognosis - "it is inoperable - you could be gone in 3 months" - that was Nov of '09 - still at it and not giving up

    Maggie,
I am so happy for you. The stress and strain of cancer wears on us as much as the treatment and cancer itself. You deserve a break. Why do you survive? THE WORLD IS A BETTER PLACE WITH YOU THAN WITHOUT YOU AND YOU TOUCH SO MANY HERE GOD IS GIVING US A BREAK, NOT YOU! Selfishly we are thankful.

    You make me smile.

Dear Maggie, I am so happy
Dear Maggie, I am so happy to hear this news. I have been stage 4 as of 2009. 2 liver resections (chemo) and so far so good. It has been almost a year since my 2nd one. I am getting a ct on the 16Th & I fully expect a good result. Well pretty much, anyway.
So, the longer we live, the better we make everyone feel. works for me. LOL.
Hugs to you my friend, and your wonderful husband. Mine reads me coupons, ; )

Stage 4 with liver mets in all segments
    Hi,

I too supposedly have liver mets non operable at time of dx on 31 dec 2011.

No resection of anything , was put on chemo straight away. , FOLFOX plus erbitux.

After two months had partial response to chemo, 50 % less tumour size but still have tumours
Of 6 cm and several of 2 to 3 cm in seven segments of liver, am based in Mumbai, India.
Since chemo working back to another two months of same regime. Next scan May 15 th 2012.

Pl tell me where you got ur liver resection done and if it was a two stage resection,
Which is what UCLA is proposing in my case.

Also what hospital etc, and what supplements u took to ensure chemo doesnt mess
    With the normal liver functions.

Thanks, in anticipation of ur reply.

dearest sdp: 50 percent shrinkage sounds very good to me. Do not give up...others here have been told they could not have resection and then after chemo they were successfully resected. I do not know what a two stage resection is.....I entered hospital in London Ontario Canada and had all of the right lobe and a great deal of the left removed in one operation....after that i did xeloda. After the second resection I was on on xelox....

I have never taken any supplements and continued with my normal life style.....

sorry I can not be of more help....wishing you only the very best.....
