So confussed.....

My partner has stage 3 Large Cell Lymphoma a very rare form that on 3% of the world is diagnosed. She is currently in remission. We felt a lump under her left arm pit. She had a PET scan yesterday and it was clear. What worries us is her symptoms. She has gone from 192 to 168 in a month. She is itchy, achy all over and tired even after sleeping for 12 hours a night. Her last treatment was in October. Just wondering if this is normal? Should we be concerned? Is there a test that she needs to ask for next? Thank you so much for your help.

    Symtoms
    Melissa,
No, those symtoms are not normal. A lot of things may be causing them. It seems a lot of Drs. never check for Lymphoma until a last resort. Ask to be refered to an onc. I am not saying thats what it is at all,but they can elimanate that diagnosis. It sounds as though a CT scan would be in order right about now and you would get one with an oncologist among other test. Just keep calm til it is checked out. Please keep us informed as to what is going on. We are concerned for others here. Some check back with us and so many others just wave bye-bye and we never hear from them again. John

    Symptoms
    Melissa,

Hi, I'm with John. Your partner needs to get checked out further. That is a lot of weight to lose and the itching could be more than dry skin. Add the fatigue and it makes me think she really does need some other testing.

Please stay with this sight and keep us posted. Lots of great info here and great people.
    Good luck!

    Welcome...
    Hi Melissa,
First off, "Welcome". Finding a lump can mean a lot of things, and not always something bad, but once found, a lump should definetely be checked out. I found a lump on my groin in Jan of 2010, went to my doctor and ended up waiting 5 months before testing began. My PCP figured my lump was just a benign cyst and said we would just watch it and see if it went away. Well...it didn't, and by mid June 2010, and after a few tests were completed..(ultra sound,CT scan and surgical removal of groin lump with pathology examined biopsy)....it was only then that we could definetely pin point that the lump was cancerous. So you see...until you get all of this done, you won't be able to put your fears to rest. I had no symptoms at all...weight loss, night swets, itching, fatigue, etc...just a lump...well actually 2 lumps...the large one on my groin and a smaller one on the side of my neck. Just get the lump checked out and go from there. It's so much better to be safe than sorry. BTW...if you click on members picture or username, you can read a Bio of their individual cancer situations. Some fill out the Bio section, and some don't. Please keep us informed..we are here to help. Best wishes...Sue

    Welcome
    Hey Melissa :).

I agree with everyone else. I would think if there were cancer activity, it would
have shown up on the pet scan but still better to be safe in this situation.
Did they do blook work on her also?

It could be she's dealing with something else altogether so she should probably
be checked out thoroughly. You guys will find lots of love and support here.

    Please keep us posted.

    Hugs and positive thoughts,

    Jim

    Hi Cat!
Great to see your paw prints here ;).

I've been doing well. It has been hard adjusting to my sister's passing and
to the "new me". I am still as crazy as ever of course. I still haven't
decided what I want to do when I "grow up" from cancer and these challenges :).

I hope things are good with you and yours.

    Hugs and positive thoughts,

How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were?
I think I'm 19. Old enough to know better, but young enough to get away with it!
    And that's no kitty litter!

Glad to see you're doing well and remember growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional!
