Acute kidney failure :(

Options
I don't know what to do. I've watched my mom lay in bed with pain for the past week while we get setup for chemo of recurrence. Today we went to the ER because she hasn't urinated in nearly 12 hrs. Turns out she has acute kidney failure. What does this mean for her treatment? What do we do? I know these are all questions for the doctors and oncologists...so I will just be as patient as possible. I hate EC.

    Not Sure What To Say
I have had some kidney issues related to my treatments, but have yet to go as far as your mom. Please keep us posted on how this works out, prayers for her recovery from this new issue. Sam Stage IV

    I've heard as well that
I've heard as well that chemo affects the kidneys, but that it is temporary and to mitigate this stay hydrated. I am so sorry about this new situation. Please keep us advised as to what the doctors say about this. I'll be praying for your mom.

    Oh honey, you poor dear.
Oh honey, you poor dear. It's always something along this terribly bumpy road. I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers. Keep strong.

    Kidney Failure
I have been there and done that. Hopefully they will hydrate her and correct her electrolytes. The electrolytes was my main problem.

I wish her a quick recovery and my prayers are with her.

    Thanks all. Turns out her
Thanks all. Turns out her lymph nodes were getting so enlarged they were blocking urine between her kidneys and bladder. They had to put two stents in and now the kidneys are draining. Obviously it's a sign she needs to start chemo ASAP, so the doc has her starting in 6 days. Now it's just managing her pain.
