I think I would be ok if the mouth sores would go away, I am ready to eat more than grits and mashed potatoes. I must not complain because god has been good and faithful. I know I have a ways to go but feeling like I can actually do this. I was getting a little depressed but I actually feel it was the effects of the chemo. If anyone has any tricks on the mouths sores I will listen , I have that wonderful magic mouth wash I just think they left the magic out of mine! Thanks for listening this is a great way to you know get it out. Praying for you Randy and everyone else.

    Mouthwash
I used biotene wash and paste. Plain hot water and salt gargle. Stay away from things like pineapple and citrus till they clear up. This is a bumpy road for some of us. My heart is with you along with many others who r reading but not speaking.

Phoebe, how are things going for you? I have been thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.

    Second week down Tybtym!!
We have gotten almost halfway through Tybtym!

You made me smile when you said "I just think they left the magic out of mine!", our sense of humor will take us a long way in getting through this, I would rather laugh then cry so dont lose yours!.

My mouth started getting sore on Tuesday and by Wednesday was very tender. Didnt have any open sores but it was definitely a challenge to eat. I also had mashed potatoes but was able to dice up some baked chicken in small pieces and get that down. Popsicles and milkshakes were the best. I swished warm water and baking soda mixture after eating. By Thursday I could tell it was less and on Friday was pretty much back to normal. My tongue felt wider and Wednesday I sneezed and bit the sore side, that was not fun at all! Today my mouth feel normal. I am sure yours will clear up soon Ty, hang in there!

The worst thing for me has been itching in the creases of my groin. The radiation guy feels it may be fungal so cleaning with weakened peroxide and letting as much air as can get to area. Today I feel more sensitive, achy in my anal canal. Lots of gas and a bit of diarrhea, have taken immodium and plan to drink a lot more fluids today to avoid dehydration.

And you know what Tybtym, I dont think God will mind if we have periods of complaining. He knows we are human and are going through a major treatment. So if you have the need to complain a little dont be hard on yourself, just remember we are almost half way done!!! God hasnt let us down, he is walking with us, and will carry us when/if it feels too much to handle. Be good to yourself, I am praying for you too. I am proud of you!! Though I would never wish this on anyone, it feels less lonely to know that someone else is walkng the same path I am and that we found each other for support, its a blessing to be sure.

Im ok. Went to Vegas on the weekend stayed at the mirage. I spent a lot of time with the dolphins and it really soothed my soul. I am using my cane all the time now. I have two canes, one for high heels and one for flats.

I begin classes on Monday for balance training. I have to admit I am very scared. My husband is very involved with his mom and her ongoing fight with colon cancer. She is 90. I have to admit I feel alone on this journey with little support and empathy on his part. I try to stay away from the boards as not to depress the others. But really I was grateful for your asking.

My life has changed so much since the beginning of January,

I love Vegas, so much to do there. I have never stayed at the Mirage but it sounds like it was just what you needed. Dolphins are such intelligent happy beings, I am so glad they were able to touch you in such a way.

I am sure it must be very scary for you and I really hate that youre feeling so alone. I know it can hurt when the one we expect to support us and get us through a rough/scary period is unable to do so. A wise friend of mine many years ago told me never to expect to get everything you need from just one person as its just not possible, so pick carefully those around you to make sure that each one has something that fulfills a need in you. I hope that others will come into your life that can fill the void that your husband is unable to right now. I do care about you Phoebe.

Please do not stay away, this is one place where its safe to share your thoughts and fears with so many who have walked together through the darkest shadows, supporting each other in so many ways every step of the journey. This place is filled with hope, kindness, wisdom, empathy and understanding. I for one am here for you and I know others will feel the same.

I hope the classes go well. Hang in there, you are in my thoughts and prayers daily! Remember the dolphins.
