Hello All,

Nov 2009 diagnosed with prostate cancer. Robotic surgery May 2010 and so far all is well. Bladder cancer diagnosed January 2010. Small tumor removed Feb 2010..Cystoscope every 4 months... so far so good.. Have a postive outlook and prognosis...until the past two or three months as I have developed hoarseness and sharp pain under my ribs. ( being treated for acid reflux so may be part of reason for vocal issues) EKG was fine..Went for chest xray last week and got the report that there is some abnormalities ( very light contrasts on xray) that the doc says "might" be scaring as tumors are usually whiter and more pronounced on the xrays? A cat scan is being ordered. More than a little concerned as I am an ex-smoker of 35 yrs ( quit 26 months ago before any cancer diagnosis) and hopng things are not taking off on me.. I am breathing fine and can do brisk walks and yard work without any respiratory stress at all. Anyone have any input?

Thank you

.

    Unfortunately it is a hard
Unfortunately it is a hard call until you get the CT AND a biopsy if needed. I am wishing you the very best. We are here if you need us.

    Worry...
Fathersson, I hope and pray you do not become a member here either! I can totally understand your concern with your past year+ history. Makes us wonder everytime we get an ache or pain. Do some deep breathing and relax. Worrying has never changed anything. The shadows on the x-ray could just be some infection that has showed up. I know it will always be on your mind until you find out for sure, just don't let it take over your whole thought process. Keep breathing and my prayers for a good outcome with the CT scan. Stay positive and stay strong! Try not to worry! Let us know how you are doing. Cheryl

    What they said ...
It's really not worthwhile even to make an uneducated guess based on your ability to do physical work. The CT scan will tell the story.

    No-significant-finding mojo headed your way!

    Best thoughts for you
F/S, I went on a 40 mile bike trek 2 weeks before an incidental xray caught my tumor. They say the best case scenario is catching this before you are symptomatic. Hopefully this will be explained without a cancer diagnosis, however, the fact that you are so active and in good shape always adds to a better recovery if you should need it. Highest thoughts coming your way for no cancer!!!

OMG, I am so fortunate as the Dr called and let me know that all I have is scaring.. no lung cancer..!! A hell of a scare but it seems like Ihave again dodged another bullet..

I guess this means I do not become a "member" of this forum.. however... I do remain a friend and "vet" "going on "2 years surviving of 2 OTHER cancers. I feel good about my chances. I also feel that many of us on these boards will make it as things are improving so much everyday...new meds.. new treatment methods...better approaches and Drs... There is much hope for all of us.. I say this as I think of one of my close friends who is beating pacreatic cancer for 8 years !!... This after the docs gave him less than a 5% chance of surviving a year!! I will stop by from time to time to say hello. In the meantime, god bless and please do not give up the fight.. Stay strong and enjoy the gift of life, love and family.
