    hi
    thanks Dee,

my first chemo was tablet form for 2 weeks, with no side effects.....but, things were not improving so back for another scan which confirmed the tablets were not doing anything. Doctor said I now needed 3 rounds of chemo and radiotherpy at the same time. My chemo took a full day plus a chemo bag attached for 1 week. My week of chemo was just pure tiredness and feeling like I was another planet plus nausea, but at least the sickness tablets worked. I'm seeing the doctor again tomorrow for a check up and to plan my radio which starts on the 28th Dec.

I also have a sore bum and not sure if certain types of food can help as I can't seem to find anything on the internet?

    Hey Reedy
Unfortunately welcome to the world of sore bums. Actually that is what helped find my cancer...I was treating a cancer tumor with hemmorrhoid suppositories! LOL Needless to say that didn't work or help much. My chemo was used to enhance my radiation so it could better burn off that tumor. I wonder why they have you doing chemo prior to radiation maybe someone else on here has had treatment like that. If your bottom gets to sore to sit and such tell your doctors and they can prescribe something to take the edge off, once you start radiation you will definately need some creams and such. Has your clinic given you a "class" on chemo & radiation? As far as a diet you definately want to avoid constipation right now! And you must eat healthy! You've got to keep your strength up. A shot of mineral oil a day will help things slide right on out if that is the problem. Keep posting and you will find all kinds of friends on here and you can be blunt and/or gross we all have been. This place is for us to help each other and that includes you! HUGS

    Hi Reedy!
You'll discover quickly how caring the people are here. As they've said, everyone's experience is different but we have the 'cancer' in common. And yes unfortunatley the
'sore bottom' is another thing we share!
My treatment was 1 week chemo along with daily radiation (total of 28 treatments). Then
3 weeks later, my 2nd round of chemo. It is alittle unusual your dr is waiting to do radiation.
I have egg crate pillows I sit on which help. When radiation starts, ask your dr for a cream to help with any pain (I use Aquaphor).
As for eating, try small meals or light snacks. I love smoothies & they agreed with my tummy most of the time. Brat diet is good too. (bananas, rice, apple sauce, toast) Look
up American Cancer Society.....they have alot of good information.
Please keep us all posted on your progress.
    Hugs! :)
