OT: A CSN 'Twas the Night Before Christmas & The 12 Things of Cancer Such a Pain to Me.

This poem, was literally, inspired by a dream I had a couple weeks ago:

The Night Before Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the place
not a CSN member was stirring, not even Ratface.
Our hopes were all hung on every PET and Cat Scan
In hopes that N-E-D, soon would be there.

Shelley & Skiffin were nestled all snug in their bed
While visions of grouper danced round John's head.
And Nizzy in his lambie jammies, and I in my sweats,
Had just settled down for a long winter's rest.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
Pattyanny sprang from her bed to see what's the matter.
But Rozaroo already there, she flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the "SASH".

The moon did glisten on the new fallen snow,
Glenna said it gave lustre to the objects below.
When, what to all our wondering eyes should appear,
A PT Cruiser, Kent Cass driving, and spreading good cheer.

Like a clown car they were, all packed in there, thick
All CSN members, getting out quick.
More rapid than gunfire, by dozens they came
Kent whistled, and shouted, and called some by name!

"There's Hawvet! Jan, Stacey!  Pumakitty and Myka!
John V G! Ray, Marine! Soccerfreaks and Mixleader!
To the top of the porch!  Knock on the door!
Now dash out of my Cruiser!  Dash away all!"

They just kept coming, into the house they poured.
People, met with many obstacles, yet they still soared.
Victors over cancer!  Into the house they flew
With arms full of food, and of course Ensure, too!

Then in a twinkling, I heard D Lewis say,
"Look there's Nancy, and tons of biscotti on that tray!"
Pam, looked out the window, then drew in her head.
She saw Green D and even more members coming she said.

Big Fuzzy Doug in fur, from his head to his foot.
Hal, Dr Mary, Goalie, and look, Kristyn Ruth!
A bundle of gifts, Tony B had flung on his back.
Connie and Homer, like peddlers, had opened their pack.

The Arndogs' eyes, how they twinkled! And Steve's were merry!
Roger's cheeks, like roses, Linda's nose, like a cherry!
"Come on into the warm house!", said Mr Hondo.
"Sweetblood's going to cook, come in out the snow!"

Denis T D was there with his new shiny teeth,
Smiled and presented to us all, a big wreath.
Adventure Bob held the door open for Robinleigh and Joel.
Brian, Mick, Denis, Joe- musicians jammin; those boys got soul.

Mike brought a turkey, it was chubby and plump.
I laughed when I saw all these people, Nizzy started to jump.
In the blink of an eye, I was off to the fridge.
With the gifts and stocked pantry, I had nothing to dread.

I spoke not a word, but went straight to my work.
Cooking up a storm,  Kimba and Mark thought I was berserk.
Then more people came, the Buzz99s, Ingrid and Ed.
Zinny May, Larry, Robert, two Rush's- all needed fed!

I sprang out of the kitchen with tons of food.
Friends seated all around, and all in a good mood.
We all ate, drank, and talked.  It was such a delight!
Happy Holiday Season to all, and to all a good night!

***************************************************************

Sorry, I couldn't mention everyone here, in that poem. I may have gotten about 50 or so in there, which is pretty good, I think. I wish you all a wonderful holiday season, with many blessings, for many years to come. You all mean very much to me. Raising my glass of milk, and making a toast, to each one of you. May your joys outweigh your sorrows. Cheers!

<3 Dawn & Nizzy, too. :)

Thank you for this posting. I have been reading posts for quite a while now without comments (someone else usually says it for me), but I really enjoyed your poem. It made my night after a difficult couple of days.

    Night Before Christmas
Dawn, this is absolutely excellent. You have done a very good job on this and you should be proud. I'm sure that all of the H&N community will get a kick out of this and it's an excellent way to help lift the spirits. Thank you.

Have you also considered "The Twelve Days Of Christmas"?

I had a dream one night, that me, Nizzy, Shelley, John, Kali, Jazzy, Patty, Glenna, Roz all were in this big house on vacation eating dinner. When I woke up, I thought of this poem and a CSN holiday get together. I wrote it pretty quickly. Half on one day, the rest the next. Maybe three or four hours.

    SnowDancer...
    As Dawn said, "Welcome"....

Dawn, that wouldn't happen to be a beach house would it, LOL....

Or in honor of Finz and my favorite, Jimmy Buffett.."Beach House on the Moon"...

The poem turned out great, many additions since I first read it....excellent job.
