Hi I just have one small concern.had my right kidney removed on 10/11/11,now since the first week of November I have been walking an average of six miles a day, also have spent some time on the elliptical.my question is even though I have been active since surgery I'm having a hard time losing any weight, also my stomach appears slightly bloated,I am not having any pain or discomfort, just getting a little frustrated with all this effort I am putting into trying to get back into shape and not really seeing any results.

You've been through alot. Not knowing what your conditioning was before surgery, I'd suggest that you just keep doing what you're doing. Your body is adjusting to significant changes and doesn't forgive or forget easily. As it accepts change, you will most likely see dramatic results. Hang in there.

is all I can suggest. Gosh - you had major surgery in October and you're already on the elliptical? That's HUGE! You did not mention whether you had an open orlaparoscopic procedure. I had an open radical and I was bloated/swollen across my mid abdomen/surgical incision area for at least 3-4 months! Having a kidney removed is a huge shock to the body. My doctors told me that it can take up to a year before you and your body come to grips with functioning with only one. Could be a little constipation?? I'm believing that you'll begin seeing a difference sooner than later - you are determined and that's a good thing.

    Excuse my spelling
I know how to pronounce most of these medical terms but a long way from spelling them out.I had laproscopic removal of my right kidney,so I now have four small sets of railroad tracks, with a large railroad track right above another railroad track I got for my 30th birthday when I had my appendiix removed..
