Halloween....

I'm seriously considering going to work bald on Monday. Does anyone have any ideas for costumes. I thought about a crazy eight ball but that could be a little messy and I want to keep it simple. Since I have a doctor's appointment and CT scan today, I considered temporarily "borrowing" a hospital gown and going as a cancer patient, but it might raise some eyebrows at my corporate job.

I know I'm not the first person to utilize this bald head for Halloween so what a perfect place to get ideas.

TIA
Cindy

An Easter Egg head might be more light-hearted.
Paint your head in pastel Easter egg zigzags and let your imagination go wild on your Easter basket costume. I was tempted to go as a bald cancer patient last year (just darkening the hollows in my cheeks and circles under my eyes & doing the hospital gown thing). But I din't want to bum out other guests who may have lost loved ones to cancer ; not everyone shares our slightly warped sense of humor! HA!

    Uncle Fester!
I have about a quarter inch of hair that has grown back but I am shaving it this weekend. Mainly a bald cap is hot and is expensive at costume shops and a razor is cheaper. I already have the long black jacket. I have the material for making a fur collar this weekend. I have the light bulb; have a hand that moves and getting a wood box with a lid for the hand to reside in this weekend too. I am going as Uncle Fester from the TV series not the movie. Movie Uncle had a Monks Rob with a hood and rope belt. TV uncle wore long black jacket that had a fur collar, much easier to find at thrift store.
My daughter, who works in the same building as me, is dressing as Cousin It with a bowler hat and round sunglasses. Although we cannot compete as a team, she is in a different department than me, we can walk around together. We cannot wait for it.

All good ideas....I like the roll on deodorant idea especially. That will take some thought.

    I am a thief...
I stole a hospital gown today after my CT scan. It was like it was meant to be. I went into the private room to change (yes they had changing rooms) and there was a little bench with hinges on it...hmmmm....I couldn't help taking a peek and well...

But I agree, I just don't think I can take the chance of offending someone at work with the cancer patient idea even if I am a cancer patient. Easter eggs are a good idea. I'll have to think about it. Just like with the crazy eight ball, that paint could get uncomfortable after 8 hours or so. It might make wearing the wig seem like a piece of cake.

As far as the gown goes...it might still see some use on Saturday night...but when I'm down it's going to be mailed back to the hospital...anonymously of course. I put a little note in the package justifying my behavior, but I'm sure it's still a crime.

    Funny....
You are going all out girl.

Costumes are pretty subtle at my work, but it sure sounds like a great idea for a Halloween party.

Have you gone to work bald before?

    Cancer patient
Thinking back, I guess I celebrated halloween everyday. Being my lazy self, I went to work as cancer patient daily. So easy and people did treat me pretty good....

    Halloween
I love the deoderant and pin ball. How about those wild basketball players that shave their heads and are always in jail. Of course then you would need fake tatoos. I will keep thinking on it. Some type of bug and wrap Xmas lights around your head that blink. What were those two comedians of years ago. One wore a hat and mustache and one was bald and chubby and always slapping himself.

    Have fun! Diane

    tattoos
I love Diane's idea - you could have fun with fake tattoes - you could be a rapper, convict, anything!!!! The roll-on deodorant would be a hoot. Enjoy and take pix for us.

Bald everyday at work and throughout my chemo treatment
I am a natural born hottie, so hats and scarfs made me sweat to much.
There was no way I would handle a wig.

1st chemo 6 May, hair started coming out 26 May, shaved my head 29 May started back to work 6 June completly bald. Everyone liked it, said I had the perfect shaped head for it. I do not know about that but it worked for me. Last chemo was 22 Aug and it has grown about a 1/4" out.

I work for a military support organization with mainly civilians but do have some military. We do have military command though. They have given the approval for costumes but do have rules regarding those costumes. There is also a costume contest between divisions. I will come wearing the outfit but then change after the contest in to regular clothes.

Just debating over shaving my head again or buying a bald cap for the day.
Bald cap is plastic and will make me sweat but I kinda like having hair again. It is a toss up. Will decide this weekend.

    Dressed up...sort of...
Well I'm sitting at work with my bald head painted green and the words BOO written on the back of it...so not really a costume, but at least I didn't chicken out completely.

I'd like show the picture but for some reason it won't let me add it. I can delete and re-add the picture of my dog, but can't add anything new. sigh.

    HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Uncle Fester with Light Bulb and Thing (Hand)
I just uploaded to my About Me page, my picture from the Halloween Costume contest at my work of me dressed as Uncle Fester with the light buld in my mouth and Thing (the Hand) in a black box. I changed the picture to black and white to make it look more like the original TV series. I got over 25 votes but did not place but lots of people gave me complements. My daughter went as Cousin It and won second place.

    no pic :o(
Trisha...your picture isn't showing up either, even on your about me page. I've tried about ten different times and the only thing that comes up is the one of my dog (even when I upload the other one). Not sure what the problem is. Oh well.

I ended up going to a last minute radiologist appointment for more mapping, then out to eat so I got full use out of my painted head today.

Sounds like you "represented". And what is with no placing...you do have a bald head afterall. That should count for something. ;o)

    I love your head shot
I told my sister that if I had really thought about it, I would have had her and my daughter do Henna on my head, hands and feet and then gone as Priestess or Goddess wrapped in a sari. I do not know why my picture does not show. I can see when I go to photos but it is my page. I do not know how to get my picture on my post though either. Anyway, I do like your head shot. trish

I love the pictures on your about me page. You look very good bald and beautiful at work - I also found wigs hot and uncomfortable and gave in to bald. It was easy and people treated my nicely!!
