Just a short note, to this American site, to tell you that we in Canada are saying prayers for our American friends - on this sad and tragic anniversary.

God Bless us all on the anniversary of a day that changed so much. On this site there are so many people who have come in contact with cancer and we know now that so many of the responders who worked at Ground Zero have now been diagnosed with cancer as well. A special prayer to them and their families for the sacrifices they continue to make as a result of that horrific day.

Blessings,

Bluerose

    Thank you
And who of us doesn't remember where we were and what we were doing
when we found out? I was stunned and in shock and disbelief for
    about a week.

My roommate at the time said "Dude, look at the TV..."
When I first saw it I thought it was a behind the scenes advertisement
for an upcoming movie or something. It didn't take long to realize
how wrong that was - my jaw hit the floor.

    Hey Jim
I think the world had the same reaction you did, total disbelief, looked like something from a disaster movie. The world was not the same afterwards, that's for sure.

    Take care.

Thank you sweetheart, many countries (93 I think) were affected by all the events on 9/11.

My husband was supposed to be on one of those planes. The hijackers were originally going to fly out of Charlotte, NC that day but decided Boston Logan International Airport was better because they could carry more fuel. But for the Grace of God.........

Many of his colleagues were already in Portland, OR and they were stranded. They scrambled to get rental cars (almost impossible to find) to drive from the West Coast to the East Coast. Because the roads were so packed, it took them almost 8 days to make the trip!

That was a horrific day for the entire world. It was also a good opportunity for so many to come together and learn how to work as a team, regardless of what obstacles were placed before them. I believe it opened many people's eyes up to the fact that the North American continent was not immune to terrorist attacks. I hope and pray that we all remain vigilant, regardless of where we live.

    Blessings to you,
    Teresa

    Wow Teresa
What a blessing that your hubby wasn't on the plane on that fatefull day. OMG. I have never known anyone that closely who could have been on one of the flights that hit. That sure must have sent chills down your spines at what a blessing and miracle you all experienced when the fates played out the way they did for your family. So happy to hear that.

All the best to you and yours.

    Blue,

Yes it was and still is a Blessing.

My husband was actually getting ready that morning and we had not turned on the tv. I walked into the bathroom when he was shaving and sat on the side of the tub. He asked me what was wrong. I said, "I feel like 10,000 souls just walked over my grave" and told him he couldn't get on the plane.

Now that was a lot to tell my husband who was a consultant at the time. It was critical to his job that he travel. I begged him not to get on the plane that morning and he said we would talk about it while I drove him to the airport. While on the way to the airport, one of his colleagues, who was already in Portland, called and asked if we had heard or seen the news. Obviously we hadn't. She proceeded to tell Neil what had happened and obviously, he didn't get on the plane.

God has continued to Bless us and many others on a daily basis. And to Him goes all the Glory.

I hope and pray that we as a nation never experience anything like that again, but I am not naive and know it is only a matter of time until someone tries again to wreak havoc and destruction upon the world. Let's hope that we all are prepared to stop it.
