Often this site crawls or times out and I get the page cannot
be displayed or similar. It happens from multiple locations newer machines, and with Internet Exlorer and Chrome. The most I've ever seen online when this happened was 51.

I clicked on "Contact CSN" in the upper right and sent a form email about a week ago.
I got what I think was an automated response. Not meaning to "whine" but
I think it's discouraging users from taking advantage of the site. THANK YOU :)

    I agree
With you on this. I complained a couple of weeks ago because when I tried to log in during the evening, I was almost always getting a pop-up that says "we're sorry but this website is overloaded, we are busy working to correct this problem, please check back with us later and we apologize for any inconvenience.

I also voiced my concerns that it was frustrating when people were genuinely trying to get help from others on the boards. I also got back a "form" letter telling me they were glad I contacted them, yada, yada, yada.

I hope they correct the problem quickly and realize just how much people rely on these boards and the friendships, answers and Hope we receive as well.

    Thanks Teresa
    Thank you.

I'm not trying to whine - and the prednisone this round
has been a roller coaster ;) but I know how valuable and
potentially valuable this site is to newcomers so
    I'm being a squeaky wheel.

Hope all is good with you.

    I'm sorry...
for both the slow site and my slow response. We are working on a software upgrade that we are told will remedy system problems. We have done hardware upgrades that have helped to some degree but the software upgrade is time consuming because of all the testing we have to do. A few CSN members have been helping me with that (on our dev site).

    No response from CSN
I wrote up a question about an issue I have been having with the chatroom and sent the issue to Contact CSN but got no answer so listed it here under Emotional Support and still got no answer.

If someone can get back to me that would be appreciated. I thought it was fixed but the issue is back. The Java chatroom is still putting a link on my desktop that I didn't approve first. I don't know what it is but the Java site said to contact the site itself so I am trying to do that. I don't feel comfortable when strange shortcuts appear on my desktop without my knowledge.

Greta, thanks so much for your response and a face!

As an idea, maybe you could add a tab or section for
"Website Feedback & News" or similar (better title) where you can:

    1. Post news about current system upgrades, known issues, future plans,
    etc. to inform users.

    2. Allow users to post public feedback in the form of
ideas, suggestions, praise, and the occasional "complaint ;)"
subject to review/approval before public posting.
(I realize you have the CSN feedback form but it's rather cold
and gets routed to some "cubby hole" unseen by others).

I think I speak for most users here in saying "Thank You" for offering
this wonderful service. I know for some people this site makes all
    the difference in the world.

    Thanks again for listening....

    Thank You
Greta for clarifying the situation. It makes sense now whereas before, it didn't. I really appreciate you taking the time to clear this up for us.

    Keep up the great work!

    Thanks for the suggestion...
I'm not a technical person but will ask the programmers who know the CSN software application whether there might be an option such as you suggest. The only option I know of is another discussion board. Or are you thinking about something like announcements or resources where people can fill out a form which goes into a moderation queue and is published upon the administrator's approval?

    I'm working on this
I spent some time typing something out on this and
as I hate touchpads, I "fat fingered" it away - dang it.

I may do some mock ups on a spreadsheet and attach in an email if I can.
Will try to paste a representation here to share with others.

    Thanks
