    Congratulations, Alyse!
3 years--that's awesome. I hope you are planning to celebrate this important milestone. I will be 3 years NED on September 9th., so we are almost "cancer twins." I am counting down the days. I wish you continued good health and may you have many, many more happy anniversaries with NED!

Nice to know I can share this anniversary with someone - especially YOU! Finished mine up today with one last "kick ****" radiation treatment. After suffering this weekend from his last one I could not believe I marched in there today. I attribute it to Sloan's great staff and my husband who drove me. I never even think about driving any more.

    Smiling
Just to let you know you belong here and are welcome whether you are smiling or not. I've done a lot of being very far from a smile and everyone prayed for me and/or passed on helpful hints for helping me get through. I am so sorry about your sister. You are both in my heart and prayers. But you will get through this just fine. You are a long way from colon cancer even though it seems close by. The time you are in is very difficult. Please stay close to us. Everyone here will do what we can to help you. The good news is this cancer is very very treatable and it sounds like you are being lined up with doctors who can help you. Don't be afraid to get more than one opinion. The first doctor told me there was no way I could avoid surgery and suggested it as the first option for treatment. I just finished my 30th radiation treatment. We'll know in six weeks if I need surgery, but the chances are minimal. Take care.

Hi Mary-NED means no evidence of disease...
congratulations to you too for completing your treatment.I don"t feel 100% normal..i have a "new normal". There are residual side effects... but certainly tolerable. Most important ..I am here and have a very good prognosis. Positive thoughts your way.... Hugs..Alyse

    Bless your heart!
Oh, Sandy. I know how you feel. I didn't drive either. You will start healing now!!! My mouth got so dry and so metallic at this point. Biotene is available at Walgreens/CVS to help with dry mouth, and sugar-free hard candy helps too. Soaking in the tub is good. You really will be better very soon!!! We are here for you!

I'm glad you have another friend who is 7 years out--that is so encouraging! I have met so many wonderful people because I had cancer--one of the few benefits--but it's huge!

Congratulations on your 3 year NED results! I'm approaching 2 years, tests at MDA on Monday and Tuesday and I'm both excited and anxious.

I'm also very sad right now. We lost our 16 year old Jack Russell Terrier on Tuesday. It was all very sudden, he was healthy, active and playful until that day. Then he had a seizure. My heart hurt so much and I've been crying since Tuesday. Sorry to unload here about that, I know there are bigger issues in life. I just hurt so bad right now.

thanks for listening and NED wishes to one and all.
    hugs,
    Liz

Hi Liz, I'm sorry for the loss of your dog, 16 years is a long life for a dog, and he probably loved you dearly, as you love him. He must have had a great life.

I have you in my thoughts and prayers for your tests, and I bet they'll be good results.

    I wish you well. Lori
