Hello - I am new here

Hello - I am new to this forum. My husband had a GBM tumor, brain tumor. He needs help 24/7, I am currently working part time, how much longer I don't know. It all depends on how much longer work will put up with me. I do need a little income to make it.

My husband had surgery on 6/3 and the doctors said they removed it all. He is now going through radiation and Chemo. The Chemo has him so tired and weak. He needs me here all the time. I feel so bad and want to cry constantly because I can't be here with him all the time.

I have so much guilt about leaving him in the mornings. I break down almost daily now. I know this is a long haul and I know it is worse on my husband. I just can't imagine what he is going through. He has no short term memory, he can't get dressed by himself. I guess I am just trying to get it all out so I can continue taking care of him.

Thanks for listening and I look forward to meeting you all.

    Caregiving is very difficult....
....and as a result we have all these feelings of guilt, sadness, anger, love, compassion, frustration, etc. They are all real and valid. I am new (6 months) to being a primary and sole caregiver and am learning as I go. I don't have much advice for you, but I have found this discussion board to be a caring and safe place to express feelings and get good information. You will survive this. And you will have been a supportive and joyful person along the way for your husband. Not every day. And not all the time. But you will find balance of asking for help, looking after him, and looking after yourself. I am in this journey too (balancing feelings of obligation, guilt, frustration, love, care).

We are thinking of you, and know that this is a good place.

    Blessings,
    Heather

    Caregiving
It is one of the most hardest things to do. You will be yelled at, have things thrown at ya, but just remember that is not your hubby talking it is the cancer. IF you need someone to yell at please come here and you can vent at us. It will help. There are a lot of us here and we have been thru just about every thing one time or another.

    Peace, strength, and hugs!

    Thank you
Thanks Steve - I will have to remember that it is the cancer talking, not my husband. I will be at this board often.

    God Bless,
