How long should someone wait after a radical nephrectomy to go on a roller coaster?

When you feel ready for it
Following my surgery I went on the Gemini rollar coaster at Cedar Point with my then 10 year okd granddaughter. That was 4 years post surgery. I also went water skiing 11 monthe post surgery when I was 60 years old. You are probably pushing it for this season.

    The Gut will tell you
If I recall my experience on roller coasters, you need abdominal muscle strength to brace for your neck and upper body. If "you" can't do a curl ups or leg lifts, you're not ready for a roller coaster. And since the posting is from jona, I assume you are the mom of the new baby, which has put a lot of stress on your whole body.
The outside may have healed, but there are many layers of internal muscles to get back up to speed. And definitely try to avoid adhesions (scar tissue) as they can form on the small and large intestines, around the bladder, etc.
Take care of yourself well this year and have fun another year.

Thanks for the reply. My wife posted using my name and you can tell as I will always refer to my wife.

Well, she didn't listen to me about not going on rollercoasters and is complaining about back and side pain. I told her not to go on them, but she doesn't listen to me.

We have an appt on Monday as she is getting pain that she hasn't experienced before since the surgery.

    This is not a Marathon
There is no reason that you cam not go on a roller coaster after the surgery. Just wait a year for the surgery to heal.

    My concern was that she
My concern was that she doesn't want to wait to heal and jumps into things.

I have no issues with her jumping on coasters. She just hit the three month mark since having her radical nephrectomy and pregnancy, so I thought it was too soon and it was because of the pain she is getting since going to the amusement park.

The hardest thing for her is making adjustments or setting limits, which she never use to have before. I told her she should wait. I figured all that turning and flipping could cause some type of pain.
