    MD visit
Saw the surgeon yesterday about my new lump...he just felt it and said he wasn't sure if it is scar tissue or something else. I am scheduled for lumpectomy again next Friday, the 20th...
Had a crying spell, and bought myself a pearl ring...retail therapy...

    YES
I had my Lumpectomy Mid February and my scar tissue felt like I have a sausage there, plus my scar after lymphs note removed changed color to be Purple/Blue.

My surgeon told me that how body is dealing with surgery and changes will occur for some time HOWEVER he recommended to use Bio-Oil to moisturise skin.

I could see some major improvements with massaging Bio-Oil daily.
    (A) my scar color changed to be more Reddish the Blue/Purple and
    (B) my boob also change texture and it is still "Lumpy-Bumpy" but it feels lesser then before.
I personally believe that Bio-Oil works but important is also a massage the oil in. It takes me about 10 minutes daily to massage my boob and I can see quite a bit improvement in texture (scar tissue) and color of scar.

    Good luck

I was on another sight and there were many comments on lumps etc near the scar area. Naturally a lot of these were our bodies just mending thank goodness. However, there were more than a fair share of further cancer found. I was VERY surprised especially as most had had mastectomies and found them from only weeks after surgery up to many years. So watch out, dont mean to frighten anyone, just go with your gut feeling.

    Lumpectomy and biopsy report
I agree with RozHopkins. We should check out lumps near lumpectomy scars. Mine was removed last Friday, and the biopsy report is just back---ONLY SCAR TISSUE!! YEAH!! (size of a half dollar though...)
Even though my report was good, we who are survivors have to be vigilant and follow up on any lumps or bumps. We also have to keep our appointments and testing up to date.
YEAH! Just wanted to share my good news, and words of advice. Thanks to those who "listened" to me here....

    Yeah CAchick! I scrolled
Yeah CAchick! I scrolled down quickly to see if you had your results. So glad for you and your hubby too.

After all this treatment it is like having a whole new breast, well more like different. Now that I have had my post treatment mammograms I can see what is supposed to be there and what is not. Still unnerving. The radiologist who went over my recent mammogram with me told me that from now on I have the golden ticket to be checked out whenever I feel something is not right. Better to be safe than sorry.

found a lump after 2 years out

I too just discovered a hard lump under my lumpectomy scar--of course, on a weekend. Will get it checked. But these postings are reassuring!

going for ultrasound for lump under lumpectomy scar

Followup on my lump under lumpetomy scar: my medical ocologist said indeed "it is a mass" and has ordered an ultrasound. More waiting. Given my history (DCIS 2 years ago, head and neck cancer 7 years ago) I cannot understand (except for cost, I would guess) they did not order a biopsy. I understand an ultrasound can evaluate if it's a cyst (and thus probably benign) but I am feeling frustrated that the ultrasound might be a waste of time, necessitating a biopsy eventually. Has anyone else been through this craziness?

    Drives me nuts sometimes.

2016 both breast removed  3 wks after the surgery, scars busted open due to infection.  meaning wider scars.  I did not have reconstruction.  My scar is from the back on one armpit to the back of the other.  No muscle or nothing but skin and bones.  And a whole lot of lumps and bumps of scar tissue that I still massage to keep it loose and always will.  I cannot tell what is what anymore.  I have to rely on my onocolgist exams.

The fear is real, but just keep fighting.

Hugs and prayers for better days,

    Annie

    lump was oil cyst

This updates earlier posting: ultrasound and mammogram showed oil cyst and surgical clips in the surgical bed. They seemed pretty unconcerned about both, but I have some pain. Some of these postings suggest massaging the cyst is indicated - I have not yet heard back about what, if anything, should be done. Any ideas?

After my surgery, I developed lymphademea in my arms.  It is awful and lifelong.   My onocologist made sure to find me a physical therapist that specifically worked with breast cancer patients to help me learn how to care for my incisions and my arms.  I encourage all breast cancer survivors to work with one.  They will teach you how to deal with it.

Hugs and Prayers for brighter days,

    Lumps in armpit

    Hi,

I too have found a large in my armpit.  I am 11 years on from breast cancer treatment and having had a CT scan, tomorrow I go in for further tests as surgeons are concerned.

Don't need to tell you that I am terrified.

My whole left side is full of scar tissue following a mastectomy and full lymph node removal.  I also have some lyphodema.  Ive been doing crazy, ill advised things, such as moving heavy furniture, wielding a chainsaw etc etc. I have recently discovered that I get some relief from pain by doing stretching exercises.  It seems to tear the tissue and lessens the pain.

Anyhow, I will post the results of further tests.

    All the best x
