My latest CA 125 is 3! I am so happy. I have been feeling great until last week when I started getting nervous about the bloodwork. I starting imagining all kinds of things and feeling anxious. Now I can relax for the next three months and live my life.

    That is great
Karen, that is great. I don't think my CA125 was ever at 3 even when I didn't have cancer.

    Yes....live your life....Enjoy.

    Very wonderful news
Congratulations! I have never heard of a number that low! Hope you really enjoy the summer! I was just wondering how often you get CT scans now. I will be done with chemo the end of May and wondering what I might expect. Again I am so happy for you and wish you the best.

I am having my CA 125 checked every three months, seeing my onc every six months and will see my gyn/onc once a year. I don't think I will get a ct scan unless the CA 125 goes up or there is something else going on. I was diagnosed on 3/16/2010, had three cycles of chemo(taxol/carbo) then surgery on 6/21/2010, three more cycles of chemo (day 1 taxol, day 2 cisplatin, day 8 taxol) and pronounced NED in early November 2010. Been feeling great except for aches, pains and still tire if I exert myself alot. I am going to start a Living Strong Living Well strength/fitness program sponsored by Stanford. It is for cancer patients and survivors. I'm hoping this will help me. I never was really into exercise. I am also starting a weekly chair yoga class for seniors. My first thought was, I don't want to go there with a bunch of old goats, then I realized I am an old goat myself! LOL I am 63. Three of my friends are going too so that should be fun. They also offer line dancing which would be hilarious. Maybe next time.

Thank you ladies for your kind thoughts.

Line dancing is the most fun you can have with your clothes on
Seriously, you will love it, Karen. And you don't even need a partner.

I just recently joined a gym. I cancelled my old membership after my diagnosis (Sept, 2009) but now I'm ready to get back in the groove. I plan to do 5 hours a week, mostly the treadmill and recumbent bike.

I have had a total of 3 CT scans: one pre-surgery, one this past Jan to confirm my NED status (I had applied for a clinical trial), and the last just a couple of days ago. I get my CA125 done about every 60 days or so, between my local gyn/onc and my trial doctor. The trial requires a CT scan every 3 months, for two years, provided I stay NED. I think my local guy usually does only one CT scan a year, and blood work every 3-6 months, as long as you are NED.

Well, Carlene, when you put it that way
I might have to check out line dancing and who knows maybe I'll snag a partner.

    Hopefully,

    Tomorrow
I am going to a gem, mineral and jewelry show with my 86-year old mom, 85-year old aunt and one of the dear friends who helped me through diagnosis, treatment and everything else that goes with ov/ca. We have trips planned to a depression glass show and an antique fair in the next few weeks. These are things we have done in the past and enjoyed. I kind of slacked off from doing things after my 27-year relationship broke up in 2006 and then his unexpected death in 2007 after we had begun the process of reuniting. Then in March of 2010 ov/ca came into my life. Yes, the last 3 1/2 years have been jam packed with drama but I am here, I am well and I am happy.
