    Great Idea. Definitely Aquaphor. Cotton hankie, I couldn't stand the creases in my neck touching. Hard candy, sometimes kept the saliva during times that you couldn't keep the water bottle handy, and a note with this website listed.

    Robyn here, maybe a water bottle for the baking soda, salt mixture. Ron has it with him 24/7. The one he is using is pink and we got it in the chemo class at Kaiser before treatment. I tried buying him a green one that looked more masculine but the pink one works better so that is what he is using. I love this idea and I think anything that helps one to feel that someone is reaching out to help relieve or assist them as they journey through the treatment is just awesome. We also have found that the calendula cream (all natural made from marigolds) has been great for the burns on his neck. Our radiation nurse gave us a sample and I was able to get it at Henrys. It is very light and not much fragrance so good for a man to use.

    That is all I can think of for now

    You could suggest some books, I have read so much since all of this started....I just bought a book from Amazon that I think is fantastic. It is called Creating a Cancer Fighting Kitchen by Rebekka Katz. It is loaded with lots of good info about how taste buds work and how to wake them up, which spices and foods help for certain ailments, all kinds of great suggestions and basically how to create a foundation of foods and spices during and after treatment. Ron will not be eating for sometime however the education of foods and knowing which ones help to fight cancer is invaluable and will be something I will be using in our future.

    Great Cookbook and more. You can google her name and get some recipes online. Magic Mineral Broth got me through some rough times. Her website is great. When I find out that she is speaking in the S.F. area again I am going to see her for sure. I am diabetic and needed to find out the carbs. She e-mailed me back in less than a day.

    Thanks Robyn. The book is a wonderful idea. Rebekka lives here in Marin where I live. I used "One bite at a time" through chemo. It really helped. I'll see if she might be willing to donate some books or maybe even discounted. Calendula is perfect too. I'll see if Whole Foods stocks little bottles.

    The magic mineral broth was a Godsend to me too. It was the only thing that tasted good for awhile. Great stock for making other soups too. Have you tried the Emerald City? Mmmm. My favorite.

    My Dental team had their own made up! I bet your dentist at the cancer centre has something similar. It was so helpfull & something I used constantly!

    John, the link is correct
    John, the link is correct when you look at it while im typing it. It's that link, but it doesn't go to the right place. This happened to me the other day when I tried to link to YouTube. Why does that do that?

    Anyway, my dentist trip today had me thinking about an extra soft bristle tooth brush, the foam brushes on a stick when even the tooth brush hurts. I used to get those in the hospital. Not sure if they have them in stores. I've seen them on line.
