Dry Heaves

We are on vacation in Florida. Last night we went out to eat with family. Don ate way too much. Mexican food to boot. About 3 this morning he started having dry heaves and shaking all over. Really scared me. Our granddaughter is a nurse and she came down and took his vitals. His blood pressure was okay, heart rate up a little and he had a temp. of l0l. We gave him Tylenol and his temp is coming back down. He is feeling better right now and it is almost 11. Has anyone ever experienced this after eating too much?

    Dry Heaves
    Hi Reba,

Jim has dealt with the dry heaves many times, not for overeating, but would just start up and then eventually would stop. It is exhausting and frightening when you can't throw up. He went through this when he first started eating with his new esophagus/stomach.

I am sure the overeating and Mexican food to boot did it! Poor guy. It is a real process learning to know this new body.

    Sorry to hear of experiences
Sorry to hear of experiences with dry heaves but, oddly, it is somewhat reassuring to us as Bill has experienced these quite frequently. It is scary and you become afraid something is wrong. It can occur out of nowhere when he's been good or when he's eaten the wrong things. Hope it gets better over time for everyone.

Don is doing good today. Guess he learned a valuable lesson. Thanks for you input. It helps a lot to hear of other people having the same problems.

    Don
Thanks William. Don got a kick out of your letter. He is doing much better today. Slept good last night too. Did I tell you he fell in the snow about a month ago and has a fractured clavecal . It is healing, but still gives him some pain. We are going on a Cruise the 11th, so am watching how he eats so he will feel good then.
