hello!

I want to thank those in the know that prayers have been answered about my only child-who is not in the UK but on a remote island in Micronesia. She was on a diving trip and evacuated to a place of safety having just flown out there a few hours before the earthquake via Tokyo and Guam. What with everything else- its been the worst two days of my life with Steve in his last few months of his journey, and new to the USA an' all.

Contact was made via the Red Cross special website set up despite most communications down on the island.

Her next task is not to give her mother a fright again and find a way through Tokyo to Dallas next month.......a small thing after all this....:-)

Just wanted to say thank you for your wonderful support and prayers :-)

Lyndsey

    I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PLEASED
To hear this Lyndsey. All my thoughts are with you at this really anxious time, and I bet you can't wait to see daughter when she arrives safely home.

I am very happy and relieved to hear that your daughter is OK Lyndsey. I think there are many of us here who collectively sighed a major sigh of relief for you.

My continued thoughts and prayers are with you, your husband and your daughter.

hello, yes we shall be pleased to see her visit Dallas to check on Steve. She was on the first day of a year sabbatical from her job to go diving, so somewhat of a dramatic start. Her base is normally Kingston upon Thames btw. she is momentarily cutting the trip to support us before returning to her itinerary. kids eh? :-)
I am beginning to think I should not have encouraged her to be even more adventurous than me!

Thank you so much for sending us prayers at just the right moment. Steve was so relieved when we matched her on the Red Cross site. She has been generously flying from London to Dallas every month since Steve dx'd with stage IV lung with brain mets and we so wanted her to get on with her own life for a bit and not cancel her plans for which she had planned over several years. We didn't quite want her to kick start her year off with this though!

I can't wait to give her a big hug :-)

    I Missed This
Sorry Lyndsey, I missed this one about your daughter being affected in a place by the earthquake. I can't imagine how both you and Steve were feeling. Having our hearts walking outside ourselves is one thing but when they leave the nest we can't protect them any longer and we have to sit back and watch as their lives unfold is anther.

    Bless Red Cross.

    Peace to all.

    Happy for you
    Lyndsey,
So happy that your daughter was found safe. My daughter-in-law is Japanese and her parents, brother & sister-in-law are living in Japan. Thank God that they are safe, but their house has alot of damage. And of course they only have electricity for a few hours before it's turned off again. It is so hard for my daughter-in-law being so far away. She just sobbed in my arms and I felt so sorry for her. Let's all pray that there isn't another disaster with the nuclear reacters. It's so scarey.
    Take care!! Carole
