Treatment of Avastin and Cytoxan

I've been reading alot of posts here where more and more ladies seem to be going on Avastin/cytoxan. Has anyone gone through the whole regimen of Avastin/Cytoxan. What was the outcome of it? I've also read where after the Avastin/Cytoxan, people could go on Avastin maintenance and was wondering how that worked out.

Thanks.

I had Avastin every 3 weeks and daily Cytoxan 5mg. I was able to do 5 cycles but the blood pressure(bp) was too elevated and the bp meds were doing ok but not good enough. Also, elevated protien in the urine test before the 6th treatment so he cancelled the last one. The CT/PET showed no progression from the previous one so I think it was a good combination for me. Had no other side effects and felt great the whole time. Now on Topotecan alone. 3 weeks on and one off then CT/PET after 4 cycles. Just had the first one and so far no issues and I feel fine. Hope this helps :)

    Joni,
I'm very interested to how the topo does for you. That will more than likely be my next one.

    Will do
    Kay,
I had the first one on Thursday morning and so far no problem at all. I went to work right after the treatment and then spent a few hours with Carlene and her husband that evening. I generally do not have a problem with nausea so I don't anticipate anything with this treatment. So far, I'm not fatigued at all. I think the concern with this is the wbc so we'll see. I'm glad someone is up at this hour my time! It should be almost dinner time for you. Joni :)

    Typo mistake
I was on 50mg daily not 5. I had no side effects at all with the Cytoxan.

When I had my tumor essay
done 3 years ago, topo was not on the top of the list, but I have run through everything else, so assume that is next. I can't get avastin here. Carbo/taxol is working now, but just looking ahead I guess...

You are right, it is dinner time here. Must be very early in NY.
